Description

Why is everyone thinking Demko is getting traded, he is litterally at his lowest value ever. Trading him coming off an injury would not be a good move as we need someone to be our goalie and the Martin/Delia tandem aint it. So lets trade out some wingers, get some picks back, and regroup. If we are absolutely terrible the rest of the season then load up with young talent we would be far better off than if we were to just go gung ho and start trading everyone. Lets trade some wingers, get some picks, and start looking towards the playoffs next year.

I think Garland would be a pretty good regardless of where in the lineup he slots in.
The Devils roster would become a lot better just by swapping Garland out for one of Wood or McLeod, or even Boqvist.

Right now, we are still trying to cobble a 3rd line. I wouldn't give up a 2nd for a guy showing minimal risk of success this year when we don't have a spot that fits their strength. I'd rather pay more for a guy either more likely to have success with Jack or a 3C that should improve the wings we already have to some degree.

Ruff of course disagrees but McLeod is going at 3 years straight being the Devils worst performing forward (not counting Geertsen).
Just shuffle the bottom six around with Haula and Boqvist as the centers, fill it out with Garland and the other usual wingers, scratch McLeod's ass and reap massive profits.

I think Garland would be a good add for the Devils no matter which line he plays on, the more talented players in the lineup the better.

Besides, the Devils are already paying Wood 3.2m to not do much of anything since November at 4LW.
Don't see why paying Garland 4.9m to do something of value on the 4th line would be an issue.
Garland's wouldn't be very difficult to move either if the Devils ever had to.
