Takes more than a ahler to get AA and retention isn't likely

There is no way the Canucks are trading Hoglander for an AHLer and a late pick

Meh, hard pass... Compher is underwhelming at best and I'd rather have Sunny, not to mention that we need to add futures, not more bottom line guys...

Bowers and Maltsev both have little to no value. Both Chicago and Vancouver decline very easily. Not sure AA or Hoglander would be targets for me anyways.

The Girard trade takes a big bite out of your defensive depth. Not really sure about the value of the package, but you have Englund as an every night defenseman now. And you’re an injury or two away from a top 4 Englund.

I don’t see a universe where Compher gets moved. You traded one of the team’s few C options, a guy that plays like 20 minutes a night, for someone you’re slotting in on the 4th. Compher is imperfect, but he plays a massive role for Colorado.

COL isn’t trading a young top dman locked up long term for rental parts with STL.
CHI isn’t doing that, Bowers realistically has zero value in a trade.
VAN isn’t doing that, Maltsev has realistically no value in a trade like that and isn’t waiver exempt.
Why in the world would COL trade Compher for a guy producing less?

COL would never do the proposed OP trade but I bet they’d do yours.

Compher makes no sense for wings and makes no sense for avs, the 3rd makes sense

Blues cannot afford to do that unless either Krug or Leddy is moved. There are already 4 NHL bottom 4 left handed d men on the Blues signed for next season. Most are overpaid, adding another would severely hurt.
