Realistic Deadline

Created by: ItalChech
Team: 2022-23 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 1, 2023
Published: Feb. 1, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
1.
MTL
  1. 2023 3rd round pick (SEA)
SEA
  1. Monahan, Sean ($3,187,500 retained)
Additional Details:
Monahan comes back after All star break and plays for a month before being traded. value not high due to production and injury prone
2.
MTL
  1. Puljujärvi, Jesse
  2. 2023 1st round pick (EDM)
EDM
  1. Edmundson, Joel ($1,750,000 retained)
Additional Details:
No need to trade him, so i see a overpay as the only way we get rid of him this year, although he is injury prone so its going to take an old school manager who value grit, leadership and playoff experience.
3.
MTL
  1. 2023 5th round pick (CAR)
Additional Details:
Does Carolina need 3rd line depth with patches gone now? probably can get way better options but with Horvat gone, maybe they go a cheaper route
CAR
  1. Dadonov, Evgeni ($2,500,000 retained)
4.
MTL
BOS - Mike Reilly and 2nd for Anderson (retained 1m?)
Leafs - 2nd round for Allen
    ANA
      The long shots:
Anderson - Yes we see crazy ass habs posting trades getting a crazy return. his contract is trash but word around the league is, is that managers value him.
Id Love to see Boston go for him to help as he seems to play his best vs the leafs incase of that playoff matchup for like a 2nd round pick, and trade back Mike Reilly

Jake Allen - does a team need a 1b goalie down the stretch? not sure who can use a player like him. Toronto comes to mind with Murray and his injuries. Allen has had his share of injuries himself so not sure how much value hed bring back. maybe a 2nd

Drouin - Drouin doesn't get traded as we'd max out our 3 slots for retainment. no one can afford his 5.5m Cap. has no real value at this point with injuries. i think he either retires, plays overseas, or bounces around the league with 1M$ contracts. but i dont see any long term contract in his future like

      Dude, DESCRIPTION FIELD. Use it!

Either make the trade with the appropriate team or use the description field for your thoughts/speculations.

Canes don’t need bottom 6 scoring help. They need a top 6 winger, and Dadonov isnt one.

K.Hughes declined a 1st round pick for Josh Anderson no salary retained, so I can't see a team offering more than a 1st for Anderson no salary retained
And don't start trades here were you trade Anderson for a 1st round pick, other fan base doesn't need that daily
