A deal for Bert

Description
What is the value of Bert at this point ?
Last year it was going to be a 1st plus good prospect. Now with only 5 points this season, while missing a ton of time, what would it take? I don't think he would sign here long term (would rather be state side) so there isn't a resign value here as he likely hits UFA.

If he has oy 5 poi to while missing a tinne.of time, is this a gamble the Leafs would even want to take on if they are looking for a top 6 winger?

Sounds like a lot.of conditions are involved, and I don't see Dubas going there.

Very low relative value, which is why he probably won't be traded.

If someone still wants to give up a 1st and an A prospect, Stevie might do it. Otherwise, he will be a Wing next year.

The least i would take from Toronto for Bertuzzi at 50% retained, Would be Minten your 2023 3rd round pick and 2024 2nd round pick. That's a very fair offer and Detroit can always use more center depth.

I am skeptical about a GM giving up a 1st+an A prospect for Bertuzzi despite his skill set and even if he had similar results to last year. That being said if Larkin is signed for 9m+ and Bertuzzi is asking for 7m+ (not sure what he is asking), I would imagine that Yzerman just moves off of him. I think Bert would fetch a couple of second rounders+a B prospect or just an A prospect + a roster player. I think Dallas and Detroit will make a deal involving Gurianov+futures for Bertuzzi.

My opinion as a Wings fan is he doesn't get moved. Because of health issues all year, the most a team might pay is similar to the Athanasiou deal (two 2nd rounders), IMO. At that rate, Bert is worth more to our org when healthy than that value.

Therefore, I think DET keeps him for a 1 year deal and, if anything, moves him next deadline or keeps him for the long haul since he's expected to be a good playoff performer.

Toronto's not the only team that has interest in him, Both Calgary and Dallas do. And i'm sure Yzerman can get more than a lousy 3rd that's still 3 drafts away.

Red Wings will just have to let him walk then, no one is paying more than a 2nd for Bertuzzi (if the Red Wings are lucky to get a 2nd)

I could see Yzerman doing something similar to Bertuzzi as he did with Mantha. Give him a reasonable 4 year deal. And if he has a strong 2023/2024 campaign. He can either be dealt for a better deal or kept.

Fine, he's not being dealt to a divisional foe for more than likely 50% retained for a lousy 3rd 3 drafts away, No way is Yzerman simply giving him away especially to Toronto. If Dubas really wants him and it sounds like he does. he's going to pay like it or not.

I doubt he will, I could see Bertuzzi more in Dallas than Toronto. Nill wants a top 6 winger and knows Bertuzzi well. Plus Nill and Yzerman have a wonderful working relation. Maybe even Ken Holland since he drafted him and knows him the best.

I've come to the conclusion that Leaf fans wouldn't give up more than a 2nd and WIngs fans would want a 1st back +. So clearly no deal here

Not delving into the value argument but do we have info from anyone other then Pagnotta about who is reportedly interested?

I don’t much value his supposed knowledge.

Not too sure. What I've been seeing was Dallas, Calgary, and Toronto as potential destinations, and I think Dallas was reportedly interested not sure if the source was Pagnotta or not.
