Description
We all know it’s gonna happen. We’re gonna lose in the first round to Tampa bet the house on it. Thai team is just way to soft to win in the playoffs. Bring up all the analytics you want this team gets bullied every year in the playoffs we need to rebuild. I expect Dubas and shanny and Keene to be fired what they are trying to do just isn’t working. Barry Trotts would be the perfect guy to bring in to be the head coach of this team.

Is an entire rebuild worth 1.5 seasons of Matthews? Maybe for an absolute win-now team, but that's not LA. We'll just hit up Matthews in two seasons.

Also, even with moving Danault, the Kings are over the cap.

Canes don't consider this. Morrow is outright untouchable, and while Teuvo isn't as good offensively as Nylander, he's SO much better defensively. There's no real reason to consider this. It doesn't fill the hole in the top six because you want a top six piece back.

If you're assuming that Matthews will want to move, it's bold to assume that he will decide to allow himself to be traded the coming off-season/season. It might be that he stays with the Leafs who are bound to be a playoff team next year as well, and then is moved in the 2024-25 off-season to his desired location for a 2nd or 3rd so that he can get the 8th year.

In which case, trading Nylander makes no sense at all. Just because they lose Matthews, doesn't mean they need to rebuild.

Ask the islander fans how he is with young players. He’s not a good coach for rebuilding teams, veteran teams close to winning yes he’s one of the best

Terrible trade for Carolina for one year of Nylander. No thought of Kings cap....who will sign Matthews as a UFA when Koptitar's contract expires (that's my opinion)

I'll. disagree that Leafs have been first round losers because of being soft. Differenent reasons. Do the 16 teams act miss the playoffs....are they all soft? Or the other seven teams that lose in the first round, are they soft too?

Nah ask him this off-season to decide if he wants to stay or go and if he wants to go you trade him for a kings ransom look what Horvat just got traded for Matthews is worth a lot more than him

Even then, the Kings weren't in dire need of offense, we need a goalie and left-shot defenseman. You just made the Kings the Edmonton Oilers for 1.5 years and they won't have a thing to show for it.

He has a NMC though so he decides if, when and where he's traded. He might not decide until after the 2024-25 season if he wants to stay or go or he might decide that he doesn't want to stay this off-season but may be undecided about his next location, so he might choose free agency or to be traded just before free agency.
