Description
I know the Canucks shouldn't be looking to trade Bear (unless I'm over-valuing him), I just wanted to see it laid out; a guy can dream. No idea how attached the Kings are to Arvidsson, just wanted a right-winger and hear the Kings might be in on Talbot.

BEFORE YOU COMMENT: I don't expect any of this to happen.

I realize you said that you don't expect any of this to happen, but at least be realistic with values.

Talbot is a 35-year old rental goaltender with injury issues. Arvidsson has been one of the Kings most effective forwards since he was acquired before last season.

I'll bet the Kings would be willing to give up a 3rd round pick for Talbot's services, or a 2nd if Ottawa was willing to retain 50% of his salary.

Too much for Demko, and the Canucks aren’t dealing Bear. Do us a favour and just give us your second rounder this season and the better of the two seconds next year. Two 2nds for Demko is more than fair.

Definitely not. Demko is a top 10 goalie talent in the league on a good contract with yrs left. Two 2nds will not get it done.

Why should I be realistic with values in my own made-up fantasy trade scenario

Why do it then? I can post a bunch of Brendan Lemieux for Jake Sanderson trade proposals, but I would expect to draw the ire of the Senators fanbase if I did.

How much do you think Bear is worth on a bridge? You're probably right that Ottawa can't afford it, but it's not impossible if Debrincat is ok at like 8.5 and Pinto is fine with a small bridge deal as well (something around 2.5 x 2 years).

Because this is a cool tool for building a lineup and I wanted to see this lineup laid out. Anyone upset at you for making stupid trades should get over themselves and stop feeling insecure about the potential of losing their favourite players. This is a public forum and people are going to post stuff we don't like. Spamming bad deals would be a dick move but I've never seen anyone do that here.

Bear is not worth more than $2.5 but Ottawa's cap will be extremely tight assuming DeBrincat and Pinto don't get more than $11 million combined and Zaitsev is traded away. There's no room for over $9 million of Demko and Arvidsson.

          That Vancouver trade is god-awful

Remove JBD and the 1st and then I'd consider

Sens don't need Bear. He's a decent bottom-4 D-man but they need a guy who can play with Chabot and make him become better (like Methot did for Karlsson). I don't think Bear can be a top pairing D-man

So if you remove Bear, then Joseph + Merilainen + 2nd might even be mistake

Leevi Meriläinen is 20 and is currently BEASTING in the Liiga

Joseph is a decent 3rd liner and an elite PKer on a decent contract, one of the fastest skaters in the league
