My dream team come playoffs

Created by: SlimTJ100
Team: 2022-23 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 1, 2023
Published: Feb. 1, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
1.
NYR
  1. Jeannot, Tanner
Additional Details:
I think both teams really need this deal. Completely different style of player, but fills a need for both teams

Salaries are a wash more or less
2.
NYR
  1. Megna, Jaycob
Additional Details:
Similar to Jeannot - Kravtsov deal, this would help both teams by filling a need. Rangers need a steady partner for Schneider, for a million bucks or less. Someone that would let his offense show a bit more, Megna has helped EK65 become a Norris candidate

Jones best attribute is PP QB from what I’ve seen). He’s smallish but quick and elusive to avoid checks. Needs a bit more time but could play immediately for SJ while getting mentored by Karlsson
3.
NYR
  1. Meier, Timo ($3,000,000 retained)
Additional Details:
This is wishful thinking on my part. I don’t believe this trade would happen, but fun to look at. Othmann is tough to give up in any deal but this one may be worth it. Meier could be flipped at the TDL for new pieces. We’d have to anticipate Meier as a pure rental
SJS
  1. Blais, Samuel
  2. Othmann, Brennan
  3. Robertson, Matthew
  4. 2023 1st round pick (DAL)
  5. 2024 2nd round pick (NYR)
4.
NYR
  1. Acciari, Noel
Additional Details:
Just some added depth up the middle (over Leshysen). Not sure StLouis would do this but I’d like to add Acciari to round out the TDL

That’s steep to pay for a rental in Meier as we don’t have the cap to resign him. If we win the cup great, but hurts if we don’t.

That’s why I said we’ll flip him at the draft. Just get different assets. We have guys blocked anyway, especially on LW

I don’t think you’d get much for him considering how expensive he’ll be to resign. Might get a mid round pick at best. Sign and trades aren’t very common.

Not a fan of that Larry Brooks proposal. I know Kravtsov doesn’t appear to have a future in New York but how would Jeannot have one?

Meier trade is crazy steep price. I don’t expect them to mortgage Othmann due to cap constraints next year.

The Rangers would have to decline his $10M option before you could do that

I don’t think so if it occurred before or at the draft. That’s like right before the resign period begins. Could move him as a pending RFA there.

Oh is the draft before the resign phase? My bad then. But that being said, NYR would be pretty lucky to get a return for what is essentially rights to signing a UFA

No worries. But yeah that’s in essence what trading his rights are gonna be imo.

It doesn’t have to be Othmann, but I just don’t know where all these LWs fit in

You gotta add something in a Jeannot for Kravtsov swap. One of those players has at least shown something at the NHL level, and that guy is Jeannot.

I wouldn’t say that NSH needs to trade Jeannot. In fact, I’d be very hesitant in moving him barring a great return
