Fully aware of that. It's an overpay, but considering how much some top 6 forwards will go for, I wouldn't be shocked at some of the prices at the deadline. I dont see Bourque being a top 6 forward in Dallas, he's going to be behind Johnston and Hintz on the depth chart at center.

Some hockey analysts and scouts place Bourque before Johnston and Stankoven when looking at their respective NHL long term trajectories.

Don't base your judgment only on his actual AHL production. His style of play and strenghts do not translate well with the style of play in the AHL.

The Stars would be total fools to include him in a trade for a rental.
