Yet again, no. Even if you retained 50% on Edmundson, the answer from EDM fans would still be no. Put simply, he is not a good enough player to justify spending a 1st on.

Well, Kent Hughes' trade partner would be Ken Holland, not the fans.

Yes, Ken Holland, who hasn't traded a 1st round pick at the deadline in over a decade. I'm sure he's the more likely of the parties to trade a 1st for Edmundson.

Further, you're not Hughes and are posting this on a site whose purpose is for fans to exchange ideas and opinions (or to post head-in-the-cloud dreams). As such, unless this is the latter, your trade partners actually are Oilers fans.

Edmundson would be the 2nd best defenseman on that horrendous Oilers blue line. A late first round pick and a cap dump is a fair trade for both sides.

don't try to explain that every year it's all the same thing. Habs players are not good enough ... blablabla.

Oh, I love this angle of argumentation.

Edmundson is a net negative (20-43 on-ice 5-on-5 goal share, +2.1 more GA per hour and -19.8% GF relative to his team when he's not on the ice) while playing the 5th most minutes per game (Savard, Guhle, Harris, Matheson) and while Savard's pairing (only ~100 of his 660mins w/ Edmundson) takes the actually tough assignments (50% of TOI against opposition's best comapred to Edmundson's 39%; likely less when apart from Savard) while producing next-to-nothing offensively. And none of this touches on his persistent injury issues, his poor skating, his inability to move the puck effectively, or the limitations his 3.5mil in cap hit would impose on the team not only this year, but also next year.

He'd the exact same thing here as he is there: a 3rd pairing Dman that gets spot duty on the 2nd pairing due to a lack of alternatives. Nurse and Kulak are both better players in just about every domain and Broberg is quickly going to surpass Edmunson like a signpost on a highway. If EDM insists on dropping a 1st on a Dman, there are much better options on the market.

Biased fans also don't need to post their deals on a public forum whose purpose is to exchange ideas. It's almost as if you can have fun making biased dream scenarios without clicking submit hushed

Yes, you can have another perspective. That doesn't mean you're free from people with other perspectives questioning, discussing, or refuting it when you go to the public square and start voicing it.

For the sake of informing that generalisation of yours, I'm Swedish. Love when you Frenchies try to call others arrogant as if you aren't afflicted by the very same.

Would be a terrible move by the Oilers, what a waste of a 1st round pick.

The people claiming Eddy won't get a 1st are delusional, and also the same fans that said Chiarot wouldn't get that for all the same reasons. It's quite simple, the actual experts are the one's reporting Eddy will bring back "at least a 1st" this isn't a narrative that some random hab fan started, deal with it.

In regards to the proposal, it's been widely reported that the Oilers are having a hard time moving Puljujarvi and he could probably be had for a mid round pick, so this proposal isn't crazy, I'd say the Oilers were do that, espeically if the habs eat a little money to help the oilers open cap space
