No, probably not. Garland doesn't fix the issues in the top six. He's a perfect middle six guy

I guess they take it, I’m not sure Garland does much for the Canes. I really liked Garland when he was in Arizona but have been underwhelmed with his play with VAN. I’d be quite concerned with lineup construction adding another undersized top 9 winger.

He did very well last year and was one of the leagues best 5v5 scorers but he's not been good this year

While more 5v5 offense in the middle 6 would be helpful, there are more pressing matters for the Canes to attend to. First thing would be to replace Patches. They have been able to coast through this season without Patches so far, but that won’t help them in the playoffs. The next thing to do would be find an upgrade on de Haan for the 3rd pair. And depending on how much cap space is left, they might pursue a 2C. I have always been a big fan of Garland, but he isn’t a top line winger, and he doesn’t help the power play that much.
