Description
If the competition for Barbashev, Tarasenko, Domi, Konecny, Duclair are too high and Treliving doesn’t want to pay a premium, I say go hard for Ryan O’Reilly & Mike Hoffman to bolster the Top-6 & Increase Scoring both at Even Strengh and on the PP.

Hard to gauge value on Hoffman and Kylington, but CGY needs help Scoring and MTL can throw Kylington on LTIR and get better value in return for him in the off-or-next season.

I believe Sutter would like a better 4C and Acciari’s the best option for that spot. The alternative might be Nick Bonino or Michael McCarron

I like Zadorov-Weegar, so let’s pursue a decent 3LD. Dermott could do just as well with Tanev as Kylington did.

As for my line combos, I think Kadri is our “Tkachuk Replacement” and will do well at 1RW, taking turns on Faceoffs with the More Defensively Responsible Lindholm.

Huberdeau is our “Johnny Hockey Replacement”, but hasn’t really taken off, so I’m recommending bringing in a Strong Sam Bennett type Centre in ROR and bringing in familiarity and past success with Hoffman. As much as the guy and/or his wife are apparently nuts, the guy does net pucks, comes with grit and isn’t afraid to drive to the net.

If STL would prefer Kylington and MTL prefers the 2nd, those can be swapped.

Kylington was worth a 1st, but his value has slipped since he hasn’t played this season

@MoxNix is gonna disown you for the MTL trade LOL

The Accari deal is fair, but I think there's gonna be a bidding war for him once the big boys are gone. He's a great final piece to add to a playoff roster. Might have to up the pick to a 3rd

STL fans will want a first all day for O'reilly, but with no retention, and him coming off an injury, I think this is fair. maybe throw in a prospect (6-10 range)

The VAN trade should be fine for both sides. NHL experience for the Flames on D, and the prospects kinda wash out.

Why lol. Hoffman’s Scoring at a 20 Goal clip. Put him back with Huberdeau and who knows, maybe his output increases 50%!? Better to have a scorer for the next 2 seasons than a D-Man who isn’t playing for or helping us imo. Gonna cost something to have MTL retain $4.5mil over 2 seasons as well.

I’m fine to throw Lucas Feuk or a mid-to late pick to secure ROR and I’d pay more to acquire Acciari if he’d sign an extension with us

I figured I’d get the most heat for suggesting Dermott but he is experienced, has decent size, was 1st round pedigree at one looking and has an impressive career +/- I think he would do well with Tanev; who doesn’t, right!?

The habs arent giving up a retention spot for a player who straight up might never play again

And at this point I would much rather have a ? in kostenko than a known nothing in pospisil

Why exactly!?

Will VAN want to Qualify Dermott at $1.75mil/yr or even at all after this season do you think!?

Karlsson = Nikolayev CGY like Swedes and could use a Right Shot C Prospect and VAN seems to be going more Russian

VAN could use more Depth and Competition at RD, so maybe Kuzmenko convinces his Russian Comrade and Teammate in Yelesin to join VAN for Training Camp and maybe he makes the Team. He’s playing well back in Russia this year and is just heading in to the Prime Age of Defensemen. I signed Yelesin, but really it’d be his Signing Rights that CGY would be sending.

The price for Acciari will probably be a 3rd, and that's with no Rooney coming back, coz that ain't happening and somebody else will beat it if they insist.

Assuming he's back with no issues, the price for ROR will certainly be more than that. Horvat is off the market now, so supply isn't going to meet demand no matter how many times the buyers insist it's a buyer's market.

Karlsson looks like they can be an NHL regular next season.

They're not giving up him and Dermott for two guys who are 26 and have played a combined total of 19 NHL games and a 21-year-old winger in the ECHL.

Seems to me, MTL will be retaining on Hoffman on any trade for him and would prefer to open up the ice time to develop their prospects.

There’s no evidence to suggest Kylington won’t be back and it’s not like it’s because of an injury

We could upgrade Pospisil or send a Pick instead, but Pospisil literally just turned 23 and is a Gritty Hard Working Projected Bottom-6 Player. My thoughts were that he might make Slaf & Mesar feel more comfortable and help them to adjust to the North American Life and Hockey Style

I’d do a 3rd for Acciari if that’s the cost, maybe STL can throw us back a 7th or Project Prospect, but as mentioned above would like him to sign an extension with that. We can deal Rooney separately if need be.

I’d really like to acquire & re-sign Barbashev and possibly Tarasenko, but they’re going to cost more to acquire and re-sign than I want or think we can afford next season without moving out other pieces, which could cost us again, like signing Kadri and moving Monahan did

What do you think ROR goes for in the end and would STL prefer to retain to get more/better assets in return or does No Retention make the acquisition price any better!?

Not gonna get Josh Anderson for that price or 50% retained, that’s for sure

Earlier in the Season I was leaning towards Dadonov or Drouin but Hoffman’s the Better PP Scorer and Overall Performer

He's definitely one dimensional, but the Flames need some help. Something just isn't working.

He literally isnt on the same continent as where he is supposed to be playing right now and has shown no intention of returning

He will have missed more than 60 percent of games the last 3 years and at at career average of 15:21 and his contract he isnt worth anything.

Pospisil isnt a nhl player and isnt even a great ahler.

The habs have 0 interest in either piece

Dermott = Mackey + Yelesin
Karlsson = Nikolayev (it’s a wash, take them out if not)

There’s tons of LD options that’ll be available, like Vladislav Gavrikov, Mike Reilly, Olli Maata, Robert Hagg, Jack Johnson, Niko Mikkola or Mark Borowiecki and possibly Marc Staal, Erik Gustafsson, Jordie Benn & Hayden Fleury.

Nope. CGY will have the Cap Space and will make it work Next season

Might not be able to re-sign ROR though, unless they moved 1-2 pieces out

So Acciari for a 4th OR 3rd, but sends something back

And

STL would prefer to retain on ROR to acquire more/better assets. What’s that look like for you between STL & CGY for ROR 50% Retained!? I’d also be interested in CGY’s Cost for Tarasenko 50% retained and Barbashev 0-50% retained
