If the jackets don’t re sign Gavrikov I wouldn’t mind this although girard has struggled this year which is concerning

I don't think the value is ridiculously far off for Columbus, but I personally wouldn't do this deal. Our blueline lacks size and quality defensive play, and Girard isn't exactly the shining model of that. Given where we're at as a team i'd rather ride it out with Bean who when healthy was one of our better defensemen. He can play that similar second pair left/right role at half the cap hit cost.

Roslovic I just find it hard to get a read on anymore. He'll have a good game and then go 4 where he has little impact, and thats with playing higher in the lineup due to injuries to others. I honestly couldn't tell you what his true value to NHL Gms is. On his good days he's worth a first maybe, on his bad he might even not be worth a waiver wire pickup. Sucks since he's our hometown kid and I'd love to see him breakthrough and find consistency to his game.

I really like this.

Great job on the contracts, all look extremely reasonable and close to spot on.

Like the deal too, think it works out for both teams

Just a few critiques, don’t see either Byram or the Avs wanting to do a 1 yr deal. Fully expect Meyers and Foudy to take 2 of the bottom 6 roles. Fully expect Newhook who has been really really good recently to push for that 2C spot, but solid effort.

As inconsistent as Roslovic is I think we should keep him. We are still super thin at Center and Roslovic is still beter than anyone else we have in the system at this time other than Jenner.

I could see the jackets signing a center

If/when that happens then they can consider trading Roslovic. Until then, they should keep him.

IMO (and many others), Roslovic is not a center. He can play there in a pinch, but the if the Jackets weren’t desperate for centers he would be on the wing.

I don’t know about signing a center, but they will definitely be drafting one of the top three.

Appreciate something new being put out there, but I don't like the trade for Colorado tbh. Roslovic is pretty meh. I think the Avs could re-sign Compher for that AAV and (if needed) trade Girard for a similar player to Bean plus picks/prospects. It would leave them in a better position both now and going forward imo.

I also think Rodrigues and Byram get more than that. But again, interesting post. Nice to see something out of the box.

You just made the case for keeping him. We are desperate for Centers. So until we find some we should kep the ones we have.

You missed the part where we are picking top3 in a stacked draft full of centers. That pick will replace Roslovic.

I would also be content playing KJ at center in lieu of Roslovic. He would have a better chance to find success on the wing.

I agree with holding on to him but I don’t think he’s a long term solution anywhere down the middle. A top 3 pick this year and development by existing young players will go a long way towards solidifying the middle of the ice for us
