Because Saros is the guy preventing a Nashville rebuild, according to many. He steals so many games that Nashville just sneaks into the 7th or 8th seed every year despite tons of roster flaws.

Very debatable.

Either way, he's not being moved.

I wonder if NSH would bite if Morrow was dangled. Canes seem to be missing that A1 goalie

Saros’ contract aligns perfectly with Askarov’s development. Not to mention Saros is a fan favourite here. He wont be moved.

I see a lot of merit in that Boeser deal..... I know a lot of Canucks fans think Drury is second rate or something so you may get flack, but the kids has game. Be an excellent piece to rebuild with.

Landing Saros would be just about any teams wet dream (outside the Big Apple anyway)....... just not sure Askarov is ready quite yet. Preds fans would have a better idea. But me thinks you need to include Morrow in that. Suzuki is what is his, Honda has upside but is still a year or two out. Gunler will peak interest, but I don't think Poile considers anything unless Morrow is in Play....... just my thoughts.

I also think that, in many ways, being a frequent bubble team is highly underrated from an ownership's POV, because such teams constantly win enough games for the casual fan to be entertained and to want to fill the stadium. Having as long of a window of making the playoffs as Nashville has is a key factor behind why they do so well in terms of attendance.

Adam Vingan and a couple others in the media have talked about it. I agree that Poile wouldn't trade Saros, but it might not be his decision anymore, before next season.

If Saros were to be made available, CAR makes more sense than any other team. They're in a win now mode and could benefit more from adding an elite goalie than anyone else. They have plenty of cap space, so they don't have to do any financial gymnastics to make it work, and one of the deeper prospect pools, so trading a package of futures wouldn't sting them too badly.

This package isn't quite it though. I agree with @swinny and @Wqrrior - Morrow is the most tempting piece CAR could offer, and would have to be part of the return for NSH.

He's not. Lankinen's been good for NSH this year. He'll hopefully re-sign for one more season. Letting Askarov get a big workload in the AHL again, would be best for his long term development.

Probably. He's a tier below Saros though.

I'd imagine Canucks fans have no issue with that deal. I do think that with Pacc out now Boeser could be a player of interest for the Canes.

Behind the Canes defense, he could probably put up similar numbers. Playing behind guys like Myers and OEL his entire career hasn't exactly given him the best support

I mean i could be convinced to trade saros but not for any of the prospects in that trade. Dont care if there are less picks attached, it woulf have to include a homerun prospect

Gotta think. Saw a thread that suggested Drury and a 2nd for Boeser. I think that isn't too far off at all.
