Honestly I don't see the valuation being too far off. Habs would have to add a pick (2nd or 3rd), but Barron as a centre piece return is the kind 9f return the Canucks should be looking for.

The issue here is the Habs need another winger like a hole in the head..... just like the Canucks.

Winnipeg conversely has D depth and might be looking. Wheeler has one year left after this...... Boeser isn't Wheeler, but he could certainly hold the spot.

MTL will keep Barron and the 5M+ difference in cap space.

Seems like a logical explanation, but why does that not apply when trading Anderson to another team for assets?

Moving both players would be hard with the cap situation. MTL don't need cap space, so unless they get a good return for Anderson, they won't trade him.

Unless VAN need cap space, they should do the same and wait for the right offer for Boeser.

The title is correct

P.s. our best and only offer is hoffman and a 4th for boeser,
Habs get the better so called 'sniper' and the Canucks get a contract with a year less in term and 2.15M AVV cheaper

Except for the Habs adding a pick, pretty much this. Can't trade our only real RHD prospect (outside Mailloux and his situation) and Boeser is definitely not worth giving up Barron alone for.
Better to keep Barron, even if he busts, than to take on Boeser's contract in a position we don't need.

Why I eluded that the Habs aren't a fit.
