I think you're over paying beaulieu by a million or so but I think I'd make that trade

Columbus isn't trading Ryan Murray for a package of meh players. Only way he's moved is if a 1C is coming back.

That Wild trade is laughable. A 55-65 point top 6 center for a player who probably doesn't make the team out of camp and a 3rd round pick in a weak draft. Does not solve any of the Wild's problems. A few years back when Mitchell was on the Wild, he requested a trade at the deadline. No chance management would use a significant player and asset in Staal to reacquire a 13th forward who doesn't want to play in Minnesota. Before you make teams on this site actually think for a second. Trades in the NHL need to benefit each team equally. You're fired.

I seen rumors that Staal will not be protected for expansion draft if he's not protected Vegas will claim him and you'll get nothing but just save on the cap.

The reason he would be exposed is if we don't think he'd be picked. It would be more embarrassing to trade Staal for Mitchell and a 3rd than to lose Staal outright to Vegas.

If we traded him to MTL, we would try to make it a package for Galchenyuk. He's the only player that makes sense to target on our end.

You watch this summer after the Stanley cup final trades are going to erupt some will make sense some not but if you do the math they're stuck at the cap sealing. Many teams are stuck with bad contracts but can't move them cause of their no move clause. Teams like Columbus Minnesota Chicago St Louis are going to dump players like it or not just watch. Columbus needs to sign Wennberg, Minnesota Neiterrider and Granlund, StLouis Paraiko and Chicago are at the cap sealing. I don't think Galchenyuk is going anywhere I know he's bin rumored but I wouldn't trade him.

I understand we are close to the cap. That doesn't mean we should throw away assets for negative value. Depending on who we lose to expansion, we should be able to re-sign Nino and Granlund without too much issue. If Vegas takes Scandella, that should cover the money they are due in raises. If we trade Dumba before expansion, we'll probably shed money further helping free up space. Any trade we make this off season will be to improve our team, not just to dump cap.

We're nowhere near Chicago territory where they're already over the cap by $4.5 million with roster spots to fill. That's when you take negative value deals.

Scandella then Zucker not Staal. No? If you had to pick as gm of VGK! Staals tank is just about empty, don't let last year fool you.

If I'm George Mcphee I pick Zucker if you protect Zucker I pick Staal not Scandella
