MTL 2024 1st round pick - Top 5 protected, if MTL decide to keep it they will instead gives the 2025 1st round pick unprotected.

This is being too cheap.. you’re getting a 1st line player, give up the Florida 1st, give up one of our top prospects in Mesar or Farrell along with Dvorak (cap purposes) and maybe even throw in a 2nd in 2024 or 25. It’s worth it.

I don't understand why people do make trade for high end player when mtl is not even competitive. They just start the rebuilding and didn't even finish the demolition part so no they don't look at a guys like Meier.

If mtl was at one or two player required and be competitive for a decade then yes they would probably look into guys like Meier and pay for it. But they are more looking about player inbetween the range of 20 to 23 that could join the core player here.

Meier is 26 and Habs have been stockpiling picks and prospects for 5 years. We’re not as far away as you might think.
