That's an interesting one. I'd do that from vans perspective.

If TB gets anyone from the VAN defence, it's probably going to be Schenn.

I don't really think so. If Allvin turned down a "2" as reported No deal for Schenn is happening with TB.I challenge anyone to show me 1 example of a team allowing a player to walk as an UFA , then reacquire him for a 2nd a year and a half later? Please link the trade.

Yeah, if the final price ends up being that high, then I don't see it happening either. Still don't think they would go after Dermott though.

As for your challenge, does this count?

edit:
No idea how much Jimmy Hayes had in value at the time but I'm guessing not much

Yeah this isn't that. Don't see Zadorov being worth a 2 but I might give in on that ,however it was a completely different management group In Chicago that reacquired Saad . Julien Brisebois would be the GM to make both moves ... different scenario.

At no point in his career was jimmy Hayes worth a 2nd

To be fair, Schenn has had a resurgence in vancouver and TBL are yet to win a cup in the cap era without Luke Schenn

My point is more this.. I can't see Julien Brisebois as his management staff being sooo wrong in their self scouting that they think 1 1/2 years after not offering Schenn a contract they all of a sudden are thinking he's worth giving a 2 for.

Stop he played less than 40% of TBs playoff games those 2 years please don't act like he was some massive contributor. If you added the games he played in both years combined he played in less than the team played in either playoff year. Zach Bogosian played in more games in 20 than Schenn played both years combined.

Yeah, I just accepted your challenge more so as a joke. The Chicago scenario was very different considering they let go of Saad and Versteeg because they couldn't afford them in the first place anyways.

I think maybe they do bring him back if they can get him for something like what it cost WSH to reacquire Johansson.

But its his unwavering leadership that the organization needs, and Boston and Lighting are interested per LaBrun

TB needs his "leadership" come on they have 12 guys with multiple Stanley Cups another 4 with a single Cup. TB might be interested for a 5/6 but if Allvin turned down a 2 like has been reported Brisebois would have to be brain damaged to do that.

If I call you and offer say $1000 for your car you think worth $5000 I might be interested but neither of us see the same value . If Allvin thinks he's getting better than a 2 I think Schenn stays in Vancouver.

So your thinking he costs a Foote or Myers being comparable to Johansson for sproung. I personally wouldn't but JBB might.

Nah, I don't think JBB would do Foote for Schenn straight up. Myers maybe, but I think a better move would be trading Myers to the Oilers for Puljujarvi. Might be a move that works in favor of both teams, but would depend on the cap they need for other moves at the deadline. One team will probably have to retain 50% on their guy, and a 3rd team retains 50% of the other's contract for it to work.
