Kane is my favorite American hockey player, however he is an EXPENSIVE rental. Not worth giving up picks/prospects as well as having a 5 million dollar AAV on our cap.

Hawks might consider two 2nd's for Kane, but they'll want a much better F prospect than Clarke. And they won't want Bahl at all. Hawks are loaded w/ left shot D prospects already.

Pass, we'd need him in playoffs and the ask is too much. If we really want him when we expect to be very competitive we can sign him in FA

Seravelli listed the Rangers as a potential suitor, but it's completely unrealistic. They don't have the future Cap space that the Devils have to lock him up long term. Therefore, Drury isn't going to pay a premium price for an expensive RFA that he would then have to let walk.

The Sabres could go ham as they have very good prospects and cap room as well. The biggest issue to me is if Meier would want to extend there. As much as I feel the media makes too much of the Swiss connections, I do think it's a reason he would come here beyond being a top 5 team.

Agree with you. And to add, why should a contender pay UFA cap to Meier new contract (assuming it is a sign and trade), and give up good assets too? Keep those assets and sign a UFA in the summer, though you miss out on Meier for this playoff run. IMO Meier doesn't get traded this TDL

For Devils, I'd love to see Hughes and Kane...if just for a few months. But I'll probably hate the price though.

I think Meier gets move at, or even after, the draft.

He may not sign any extension until he hears from all teams...and can talk to 32 teams come late June.

Pass. Hawks already have Walsh. His name is Ian Mitchell. Same draft class. Same build. Basically same style player. Hawks don't need 2. Sorry, I should have explained myself better. Replace Bahl and Clarke with a single, better than Clarke F prospect. Not sure who that might be? If Clarke is considered a high end prospect for Devils, then there probably isn't a trade to be made with two 2nd's as the picks.

Happens all the time when teams playing like Chicago has this year (as Devils fans, we know this). I think he has good years left. Could be wrong. And wouldn’t want to sell the farm there. But Hughes and Kane together would be fun.

If he came nearly free and we lost out on anyone else, sure. But he'd be last on my want list.

If he moves, it very well could be Hall (Bjork, 2nd) return if he picks a team. And the scenario that works is if Meier is held back for draft trade.
