I realize it's based off a trade a SENS fan made but I think OTT could get a better return for Hamomic while retaining half his salary.

Nothing monumental. The 2024 3rd instead of the 4th would do it. Or maybe OTT could snag a B prospect like Vsevolod Komarov along with the 4th.

tbh even with retention I don't think Ottawa has business rejecting anything more than a 5th for Hamonic

Disagree. If we're retaining 1/2 and only getting back a 5th I'd be tempted just to keep him.
Holden? Sure. But without Hamonic our right side and PK would be horrific.
I don't want to ride out the season demoralizing our youngsters... more than we already have.

His value sits somewhere in the middle. The good thing he has going for him is his play with Sanderson beside him. Sanderson is propping him up by a lot. Teams are going to look at that and value him a little more. The other thing is how much teams are willing to pay for, at best, a 5-6 RHD? Some teams value depth a lot more than others. For instance, fringe playoff teams won't pay much but a legit contender might offer a little more (nothing that substantial but something more than a 4th).

I'd like the return to be somewhere along the lines of what Ottawa gave (3rd round pick).

Schenn and Mikkola would be good adds, the rest I'd say no to

Canucks decline. Offer easily gets beat - they turned down a 2nd last TD.

That's fine. I don't think Kevyn Adams is going to spend anything more than a 3rd or 4th max for a rental which is pretty much why I have Schenn so low on the list.
