Should an ACGM only be about trades?


That seems to be the only thing that people want to talk about in an ACGM.

In most cases yes, simply due to there being other places more suited for non-trade talks ( aka the forums )

That kind of begs the question as to why Capfriendly has a "trade machine".

Which is a completely separate feature.

Because the trade machine shows the actual cap implications for the season, something ACGM can’t do

I never use the trade machine, so good to know.



On a separate note, my thinking is that there is more that a NHL GM does as part of his profession than just make trades.

So, why can't the same thing be said about making an ACGM on Capfriendly?

What else are you looking for? The AGM functionality accounts for signings and trades, which is like 90% of the NHL GM gig.

To have a signings tool with the similar depth to it as trade machine has in terms of cap implications would be cool - something that can factor taxes, show what portion of a contract is signing bonus, etc - but this in itself would be separate from AGM like Trade Machine is.
