Summer time news

Team: 2023-24 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 5, 2023
Published: Feb. 5, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Send Slaf to the AHL.. he needs to learn to keep hid head up…
Hoffman can’t be worse than Pul in EDM but Edmunston would help their Dline .. Pulj seem to be headed out but won’t get a 1st so might as well offer a 2 & 4 for him and Rodrgigue… Van trade would need to be bought with a 1st from WASH since no retention is included. They still get a good Dman and some lower picks.

Canucks aren't going to pay a top 15 pick to dump Myers.

Agreed even if Islanders make the playoffs and return to there ECF ways Vancouver can't afford moving a 1st unless it's adding more good picks to the pile.

Canucks decline. Firstly, they aren't going to move what is almost certainly a lottery pick in a stacked draft. Secondly, they don't have a need to clear cap since they moved out Horvat. Currently, they would have a little over $7 million to sign Bear, Dermott, Schenn, and Burroughs. Lastly, they view Myers as a positive asset and thus, won't pay to dump his contract, especially when they don't need to.

I could see the caps doing that deal, but obviously depends a lot on what they think of Barron vs whoever is available at pick ~50

i thin k you might be confused. isles are out of the playoffs (at the moment) and any team who does not make the playoffs can win the lottrey and move 10 spot up in the draft.

Islanders pick is currently at 13 and they are out of the playoffs. They are also 3-10 in their last 13 games. They're on a down trend and are playing in what is a very strong, well rounded division.

MTL isnt movng Barron for a second, they just got him as a 1st equivalent in the Lecky trade, and would certainly still view him at the same value.

Edmonton isn't in the market to be taking on cap dumps. That's Montreal's position.

I would be surprised if they did this but I didn't make the post!

ya i know, but you said that capitals would do it if they viewed him as better then the 50th+ pick in the draft, was just highlighting that the team who is currently managing him views him as a first equivalent so I assume capitals would jump all over this.
