Description
Hey there, so the Los Angeles Kings are in a bit of a rough spot on D right now and they need to make some moves to try and fix that. Trading Sean Durzi, Alex Turcotte, Sean Walker, a 2023 1st round pick, and a 2024 2nd round pick for Jakob Chychrun and Karel Vejmelka from the Arizona Coyotes could be a good move for them. Chychrun is a solid defenseman who can help shore up the Kings' back end, and Vejmelka is a promising young goaltender who could provide some depth in net.

As for putting Jonathan Quick on LTIR until the playoffs, that could actually be a smart move for the Kings. Quick has been struggling this year and putting him on LTIR would give the team some much-needed salary cap relief, while also allowing Quick to get healthy and hopefully play better in the playoffs. It's not ideal, but in the current situation, it might be the best option for the Kings.

I mean, don't get me wrong, Harvey Pinard is a decent player, but he's just not on the same level as Andersson. Andersson is just an awesome player, and it would be a real shame to see him go. I don't think trading him for Harvey Pinard is a good move for the Kings.

You have to be injured to go on LTIR. Quick is not.

The Kings put Andersson on waivers earlier this season. If anyone wanted him, they would have claimed him for free back then.

I disagree with the statement. While Harvey Pinard may not have the same level of recognition as Andersson, it is unfair to judge his value as a player solely based on reputation or past performance. Every player brings unique skills and attributes to a team, and it is possible that Pinard could bring valuable contributions to the Kings. Additionally, player trades are often motivated by a variety of factors beyond individual performance, such as team dynamics, salary considerations, and long-term strategy. It is important to consider the full context of the situation before making a judgement on the potential trade.

I disagree with the statement. Just because Andersson was placed on waivers and was not claimed, it does not necessarily mean that he has no value to other teams. Teams often have specific needs and priorities, and a player that goes unclaimed on waivers one time may be in high demand at another point in the season or in the future. For example, the Calgary Flames claimed Oliver Kylington off waivers in January 2021 after he went unclaimed earlier in the season, and he has since become a regular contributor to the team. Therefore, it is possible that the Kings could still receive a valuable return in a trade for Andersson.

You don't necessarily have to be injured to go on LTIR. Sometimes players with long-term injuries can be placed on the LTIR to free up salary cap space for their team. So just because Quick isn't visibly injured doesn't mean he couldn't be on LTIR.

You do realize Anderson is 24 he is a tweener. The main difference is RHP is actually useful in a bottom 6 role

False. The league does regular checks and medical testing on players moved to LTIR, especially those moved there indefinitely.

MTL isnt trading RHP as outside Dach he's the only one able to breathe life into Suzuki's line without Caufield there.
While he's amazing on 4th line with a mutli goal game then a real stinker in a shutout where he was one of the only one with quality chances.
This earned him the call to top line where he scored 2 goals and provided Suzuki and Anderson a spark for Suzuki's first multi point night since Caufield went on LTIR.
For Anderson it was just the 2nd time this season he had a multi point night after RNH joined them and it snapped a 3 game pointless streak Suzuki/Anderson had going .

When Caufield went down and both became Ghosts
Caufield went down and RHP scored his 1st goal of the season
While others cant seem to step up he's consistently doing so.
To be fair though due to injuries Suzuki lost first Dach when Center Injuries forced him of wing back to Center.
Then he lost Caufield about 10 games after that and is has 1 goal 6 points in 19 games up until RNH joined him .

Plus you dont trade the guy nicknamed "Laval-agher "
He plays just as hard with the same shot in the same package at 5'9 183lbs playing like he's 6'9 240lbs
Plus Lias Anderson doesnt even beat out Teasdale or Condotta for 3rd line Winger in Lavals deep system with skilled Goal Scorer's and Garbage Goal Scorer's in bulk.
We need Playmakers like Turcotte who's on a 3 year decline after mistakenly leaving NCAA after a season and entering into a system to deep to coddle him but instead pushed him from center to wing hurting his overall value and stunting his development.

Lias Andersson is as worthless as Joey Anderson, and there's no need to acquire a winger from outside the organization, so all the talk about RHP's qualities is moot.

Trading one LhD (Moverare) for another (Hajek) seems unnecessary, if not pointless.

Since we're not acquiring RHP, there's no need to ship Grundstrom out.

Your main trade doesn't seem exceptional. That may be exactly what an eventual Chychrun/Vejmelka trade looks like. Personally, I'd like to leave Durzi and Vejmelka out, but that's pure bias on my part. (I love Sean Durzi.)
