Hard to get a sense on how Wings feel about Vrana going forward but I don't think they're trying to get rid of him for whatever they can get. Putting him on waivers was a calculated risk. Few teams could afford to claim him and the ones that could would be scared off by the unknown of him having missed the last few months in therapy. He seems to be rounding back into form now and I'd suspect they bring him back up soon.

So we take on an older pending UFA in Jesper Fast. And retain $700,000 on Vrana for 1.5 years. Don't think so. Absolutely 0 value to us in this deal.

There is just zero reason for Detroit to "dump" Vrana, so the risk-reward balance for Detroit to ride it out far outweighs the cap when we have the space in the short term.

Fast would not be the right grab for Detroit in a Vrana trade, but this is just as absurd a trade for the Canes. Fast is a known, solid contributor in his role. Would be a mistake to swap him out. And for someone who is currently regaining form in the AHL. It's in everyone's best interest to back away from this one. And zero interest in a Pittsburgh trade.

Did the posted trade get amended or something? Because I see a reclamation project in Vrana from the Wings, not anything of value to expect Jarvis.

I think your sarcasm is showing, but it wasn’t good enough to be evident enough to know you weren’t serious.

This Wings trade is an example of an increasing amount of posts on here which are bad for both teams.

Fast isn’t going anywhere. Vrana doesn’t do anything for the Canes anyways. We would just wait until Detroit buys him out. Little chance the Canes get involved in Vrana with that AAV. Asking for Jarvis is just delusional fandom right there. Vrana isn’t going to play for Detroit again but they want an actual good winger on an ELC. Hilarious

The Jets have spent too much money developing Stanley, they aren't giving him away for nothing.

Could’ve just snagged Vrana off of waivers, why would we give up a good glue type piece on a cheap deal?

Idk what a “fair” deal for Vrana looks like at this point but don’t think this makes sense for either team. The other moves are eh.

It was we aren't giving up vrana and retaining for nothing and sick of the posts about it, so will say what it would take to get a 30 goal scorer in his prime

Let’s be realistic here. A dynamic young playmaking winger on an ELC is much more valuable to the Canes. Vrana COULD get back to his level but he might not. Vrana’s full AAV will be really hard to move and get something useful in return until he shows it again in the NHL. Before then - there is risk.

Bro I'm just going as far in the opposite direction until someone realizes cap dumps and loser contracts are not what the wings want or are taking. You have a top 10 prospect pool and plenty of picks as well as salary cap space, insert X prospect and X pick and it's fine. Jesper fast is not

I get you don’t want Fast but he’s also far from a cap dump or a loser contract. Bad trade fit for what wings are looking for? Yeah. Those other things? No.

I’m not your bro, but let’s move forward amicably…

The posted trade is absolutely terrible. My comment wasn’t about the trade. It was about how just going the opposite way is divisive language in the comment. Maybe we should just say why the trade is terrible and all try and learn.

Let’s all sit in a circle around the campfire and get along!

Fast is a 4th liner who will take a roster spot from the young wings who could use the time and roster spot and is ufa. If you don't pay the price for the potential of an elite goal scorer then you don't get him and can get bounced out of the playoffs just like every other year. I'm sure that prospect and pick will really affect your team over the next 3-5 years of cup runs compared to a sniper. Keep fast well keep vrana peace boy

Lol I literally agreed that it wasn’t a good fit or trade option for the wings. Relax. You guys are so wound up over a few trade posts for Larkin and vrana on a message board that you’re just blabbering incoherently at this point. Don’t take everything so personally and actually try reading instead of blindly lashing out. Have a good one little dude.

It gets maddening after 3 years of this, it was mantha, then bertuzzi now Larkin and vrana, I believe this is why the wings fans on here are always angry with mad posts, just sick of the undercut and ridiculous trades that make 0 sense

I mean I get it. I’ve seen my fair share of dumb Pesce to TOR trades every offseason and a bunch of others for most fanbases. I just ignore them now though - what’s the point of getting worked up about it? Only gonna frustrate yourself. That’s my perspective at least.
