Sandin Knies and the first for Chychrun i can see. How are the leafs paying for Bjugstad,Kassian, and the Kerfoot salary dump? Certainly not with Anderson and 3rd... Hard no from Arizona.

No way the Leafs offer sandin, knies and a first for Chychrun.

True. Another pick (2nd maybe) and another prospect? Kerfoot would be an asset for them to either resign or flip for another pick 2nd or 3rd

Kerfoot is a UFA on a bad contract. He has negative value. They could keep him and resign him. But they could do that with any player on the junk pile and do it for free. Kerfoot is a 4th line nothing.

Actually I believe that is exactly what the offer would be. The leafs would ask for 50% retention with it. But Arizona might not give it to them. Likely they would ask to swap Sandin for Liljegren in order to get retention. But i wouldnt do that. The first, knies and Sandin is the package though.

I think this is in the neighbourhood. Sandin, Knies, and a 1st for Chychrun, Bjugstad is very reasonable for both sides, I think. The 50% on Kassian and Bjugstad and Kerfoot's value (if any) and the extra bits you could quibble with, I guess.

Kerfoot is a cap dump. He's not good enough for the top 6. He's overpaid and not big enough or gritty enough to be a good bottom 6. With 50% retention Arizona might get a 3rd for him but they'll want another 3rd from Toronto for taking him on in the first place.

Not a chance they offer that for Chychrun. I'm not saying he isn't a really good player, but we are not trading a first (of which we've only had 2 since 2018-one of which might never play because of health problems), our top prospect and a cost controlled dman who, despite the idiotic takes by the "experts" on here is pretty good and steadily improving.

I like Chychrun, but I don't think he is worth that and there is no way the Leafs can trade that much future away in a move that wouldn't put them over the top anyway
