Bump the first to 2023 and you have an offer that is hard to beat. Doubt Portillo and Johnson hold much value as they are walking to ufa

Mario isn't that expensive. This is an overpayment. He brings intangibles to SJ that he may not bring to another team. He is likely the next captain after Couture, doubt Grier ever trades him.

Savoie and a 24 1rst + rights to 2 players you can use? I would add a 23 2nd.

Yeah, that's why I want him, he would be an unmatchable 3P LD and 1 PK for 4 years.

Agreed, this was mostly in jest (and I like Mario). The Timo proposed trades on here where anything of real value is "untouchable" came to mind when writing this.

Maybe, probably, but Ferraro is a good Dman, and having him as a 3rd pair LD, at an affordable price would be Awesome.

I agree that we need a good LD3
BUT
It’s also important to think about how much that roster spot is worth to us

Samuelsson is gonna play 20+ minutes on the top pair with Dahlin
And Power is gonna play closer to 25min a night

So whoever the LD3 ends up being is likely not getting much more than 15min a night

Instead of giving up big time assets for a young guy that’ll cost A LOT- it makes MUCH more sense to just bring in cheaper Vets that can be solid in that spot & not hurt us

That’s ALL we “need” from the LD3 spot

More important spots to spend on
