I think other teams would know that the Leafs would need to move Kerfoot and Holl to make serious upgrades, thus making them essentially valueless.

Also, they're just decent (and overpaid) depth pieces on expiring contracts. Not much value there.

You’re trading a 3rd round pick for Schenn and you don’t think you could get a penny for Justin Holl (who only makes 2 million) who plays 20 minutes a night on a better defensive team than Vancouver? You could absolutely find almost any playoff team and get something for Justin Holl to be your 6th/7th defender.

You can get something for Kerfoot as well, Vegas, Carolina , New York islanders, could all be suitable home for him.

And the most likely scenario? The Leafs keep them!
