If they actually want to compete with Tampa, they still need a top 6 winger, Atleast 1 top 4 defender at the minimum (could use 2) and then hope Murray/Samsonov get hot. I don't think it's the right time to go all in, but Dubas is in a contract year and needs to or he's gone.

I think they're better than Tampa on paper, but what will happen in a deciding game with the whole world watching? Lots of pressure.

They might as well go all in. No point in trading that for O'Reilly only to go half in. Likely Dubas' final year if they don't make a cup run.

Yeah my thoughts exactly. Maybe try and flip Kerfoot, then use those picks + more to get a better top 6 guy. Think he's a weakness in the top 6, but they might be able to flip Kerfoot for value. Don't think they can get a Meier now, maybe target an underrated guy like Lawson Crouse or Max Domi? Garland/Roslovic are more options

Watch doug Armstrong/STL now weaponize their newly acquired cap space and grab a tad more. Sure we’ll take a bad contract.

Dude has a chance at single season legendary status if Barbashev is moved, cap is weaponized.

Could be 2 more 2nds and a prospect still coming to STL.

Haha. I don't think it's on Tavares, especially the series he didn't get to play, but it is a fact that they haven't won a series under his watch.
What if they made O'Reilly captain tomorrow? (not serious about it happening)
Piss off the players, likely, but maybe that's what it takes to get over the hump and they'll win a cup out of spite.
