Comtois might get you a 2nd at this point, definitely not Poirier on top of that

That makes no sense for the Canes. They have no need for RD, and moving Gardiner, who is LTIRetired, and 2 2nds for a player they don’t need is just terrible asset management. They could use Gardiner’s LTIR relief in addition to Patches to go and make big splashes that make sense.

Holy cow what is that Henrique trade?!

You aware he is scoring at the exact same rate as Bo Horvat over the last 3 years?!

Even a 2nd seems generous

I mean, if the Canes never made the trade for Burns, I am pretty sure Klingberg would be in a Canes jersey. But since the Burns move was made, any need for a top pairing offensive RHD went. Plus, with the way Chatfield is playing, Klingberg would be a healthy extra unless Chatfield plays over at 3LD. I mean, he has shown he can fill in for Slavin pretty well, but I would rather have Chatty on his natural side.

It would be quite an overpayment for any team to take on Klingberg for anything higher than a 4th. That includes with retention

The difference between Miller and Shattenkirk isn’t a 2nd.

Canes pass. Henrique might be the target for them from the ducks. Kling doesn’t fit a need and he’s been awful. Can blame that on his surroundings and hope he bounces back on a contender but truth is he was declining before this year.

Well that's not a very nice thing to say about Horvat.

Kulikov is worth more than Shattenkirk and you have the Kulikov value absolutely right.

We expect to get a first for Henrique with 50% retention. Because he's not a UFA, if we don't get that or an equivalent offer, we'll just keep him.

We're not ready to give up on Comtois yet and, as you can see by the comments, trading him now would be near his low point in value. What's interesting about Max is that despite his struggles the past two seasons, he still has better career stats than Pierre Engvall, and there are some subtle indications that Engvall might be playing on a better team than Anaheim.
