I'd take that for Goodrow. A lot of people on here take one look at his contract and automatically think that he has negative value even though he's on pace for almost 40 points this year. I think Engvall would fit well with the Rangers, and Goodrow would fit perfectly with the Leafs. He can play anywhere in the lineup and contribute no matter the assignment.

Why on earth would TO do they Goodrow move? He's not a 3+ million dollar player. The whole every bottom 6 player in the league is better than anything TO has is just silly. Engvall is a good player, he wins his minutes by a decent margin and that's despite heavy defensive zone starts.

Then why has he been branded as a bad signing by most of New York fans? This is a clear win for you guys.

I'm not sure to be honest. This website has fans equating long term contacts = bad players. Every team has that player that the rest of the league will hate on and call a plug yet they are actually useful.

Engvall to a T. Or Holl and Kerfoot as well for that matter. All 3 win their minutes and contribute in a positive way and all 3 are crapped on by almost everyone. Unfortunately, the vast majority of people on this site are here just to fight with everyone else. It's hard to have rational conversations on here.

I remember when Kerfoot was a UFA and there were all the rumors that he was going to be a Ranger (but he ultimately chose Colorado). Sometimes the team that someone is on or the contract they sign (For example, Karlsson might not be worth 11.5 but maybe 8.5, but since he's making 11.5 he'll regress any minute) crowd is just plain wrong. Karlsson is a bad example because he's having a Norris winning season but you get what I mean.

I think as a roster fit, Goodrow would be a good fit since he would be more or less like Kerfoot but without the offense. However, in terms of cap management, I don't think Goodrow brings enough to justify 3.6m for the Leafs considering that Kerfoot's 3.5m is the contract that is always talked about as the one to be moved when there is talk about the Leafs adding a top 6 or top 4 D upgrade. If Goodrow was like 3m, then I could see Dubas being interested maybe since it's at least 500m saving for next year.

I think everyone respects what Goodrow & Coleman did for the lightning, but they were rewarded with contracts that were a bit too much imo. The cap hit on Goodrow is tough but it’s the term that is the killer; 5 more years - I don’t see anyone willing to trade for him anytime soon. Same goes for Coleman - good player but too much $ & term
