Arizona probably asks for something ridiculous that would include one of Knies or the 2023 1st. I don't think it's worth it, just to get a big body.

Hyman compliments superstars better because he's contributing a lot more by fetching the puck and what not. Crouse is just a big body, who probably can fetch the puck as well, but most of his production is off the rush apparently and he's a one-timing machine. Could be great with Marner and even Nylander but not sure you can justify that cap hit for only that and I bet the cost of acquisition will be steep just like Wilson or Anderson.

Having Knies in the system who is bound to be at least as productive as Crouse kind of makes this trade pointless in the long-term. Would rather have Bunting over Crouse.

I can see that, but I don't think Dubas will want to offer him more than 6 years though. He might still sign that but who knows?

I'll have to admit that I'm incredibly low on ARZ players in general. You might remember me comparing Crouse to Ritchie, but he's gapping him now at least in goals, so I'm less pessimistic about him failing in Toronto. That being said the 4.3m cap hit would still make things incredibly tight next year, and going forward, so there's no room for error there. The fit will have to be great and he will have to produce without failure even if it's 20-25 goals and 60 points. If he can PK then that would be great too, but I saw his card from the off-season and that didn't look great, but maybe it changed.
