Chychrun offer is too light. Detroit declines Bert offer. Yzerman will be looking for a '23 1st. I'm not even sure if he'll be traded. Detroit is hanging around a playoff spot with a ton of games in hand on teams they're chasing. Red Wings may not be selling at all. This upcoming road trip will determine if they're buying or selling at the trade deadline.

Hard to see Anaheim buying a rental, but maybe they'll need to fill out the roster after trading John Klingberg and Kevin Shattenkirk at the trade deadline.

Why the hell would Anaheim give you a 4th round pick for Justin Holl at this point in the season?

Arizona passes, That offer isn't even close for Chychrun. If that's all Bill Armstrong wanted chychrun would already be gone.

Detroit passes. Yzerman only wants 2023 picks 2024 don't cut it. GMs have said that 2023 2nd round picks have more value than 2024 1st round picks.

you freakin wish you'd get this offer jeez dude he's played like half of Detroits last 3 seasons of games and has 7 points in 20 games. Unless he goes on an absolute heater over the next 3 weeks there is zero chance he gets a first

Well you might as well give Detroit the 2023 1st because Arizona isn't giving up Chychrun for that. You are getting a player you intend to play in your top 6.

That's what's always hilarious about these Leafs fans CFACGM's. They claim Bert isn't worth anything but then they place him in their top 2 lines. 🤭

These guys are obvious Leaf haters (jealousy); bertuzzi is coming off an injury riddled & a statistically really bad year but he’s worth a 1st? And we can place anyone on line 1 or 2 - not because of their talent - but because they’re riding shotgun with Matthews / Nylander or JT / Marner .
I guess they don’t understand how elite talent works 🤷

I hear your argument but where we choose to play bertuzzi shouldn’t affect his trade value. Truth is we don’t need superstar (Meier or Kane would be nice, don’t get me wrong) to play 1LW or 2LW. We have superstars already - we just need bunting 2.0 to fill out top 6. So I wouldn’t read too much into that - Jarnkrok is playing there now and he is not a superstar. Bett could end up 3LW
Bertuzzi is a good player but far from elite - he is having a terrible year (part injury, part performance) and is a pending UFA. Bert is type of players GM want at playoffs but based on his performance this year, I think the offer is more than fair but time will tell 🤷

ok, even from a detroit perspective I would disagree with that but ok. Why do you want to extend someone who cannot stay healthy longer term?

Your kind of right where you want to play shouldn't matter but when we say what we think he's worth you say he sucks or he's not playing well but that's too much but you still want him.

You do realize you can't have it both ways he either sucks or you want him.

I think you’re making a false equivalency. It’s not he either sucks or we want him. He doesn’t suck, but he’s definitely not elite - we would trade for him if price is right. But we would do the same for a number of other wingers (aka bunting 2.0) - a lot of average to above average wingers would look good playing with Matthews / Nylander or JT / Marner.
Again, Leafs situation is different than Wings - he would not be one of our better players. But for one playoff rental - he could be of use

Ok but when a Wings fan says that isn't enough for Bertuzzi and a non-Detroit fan bases their argument on that player not being good but they still want them how does that work?

I’ll try again - I don’t think comments from Leaf )or other team’s) fans are saying he isn’t good. We’re just saying we don’t think he is as good as you think he is.
ROR is a good player but he’s not worth a 1st imo. Toews is a good player but he’s not worth a 1st imo. Every situation is different - both of those players have great playoff track records but also carry a much larger cap hit; Bert is a good player but just not worth a 1st imo.
