Hmm. It's an offer worth considering, but I don't think the Blues will want to move Saad. Full marks for creativity, though. Tired of seeing the same bad trades over and over again. This one is interesting.

I think he'd be a perfect winger for Tavares. Also think the Blues should explore this possibility for a little retool.

Value is fair, but Hawks probably prefer a mid round pick to Abruzzese. Say the 2024 4th?

I wouldn't be opposed, but I think Dubas would rather empty some of his pipeline because they traded so many picks recently. Abruzzese, while a bit older than your usual prospects, is having a productive season with the Marlies.

There will be some measure of situational turnover, but this is not going to be a fire sale.

You got guys like Thomas, Kyrou, Buchnevich that you build around, then guys like Leddy or Binnington that aren't tradeable, ROR and Barbashev (Mikkola, Tarasenko) as rental options... or guys with contracts too large to be traded at the TDL like Krug, Schenn, Parayko.

Options are limited, but if they want to add another 2023 1st rounder Saad could be the way to do it.

Saad provides plenty of value for his salary and definitely plays Blues style hockey. Like I said, it's conceivable but seems rather unlikely.
