The above is purely a skeleton tree for the trade. Ignore value like so and so isn't worth x y or z. Obviously, Arizona probably gets another prospect or pick, but the question is who kicks it in, Ottawa or Arizona? The above is purely a basis for a trade, not a statement of value.
The basis of the trade is:
-LAK trade one of their excess D to Ottawa to for picks or prospects. The trade these assets as part of the package to ARZ to subsidize the cost of Chychrun (Durzi, Roy, etc)
-Ottawa attaches a 2nd to Zaitsev and sends him to Arizona (a 2nd is the rumored cost)
-Arizona sends Vejmalka to Ottawa (Forsberg has double MCL tears, Ottawa needs a goalie now and for next season. Vejmelka is hurting the tank big time)
-Chychrun goes to LAK.
-Assume any 1st round picks have some form of protection.
-Kings would be cap compliant once they bring their roster down to 22 players.
What's the cost for each team to accomplish all of the above? What does Arizona get from Ottawa/LAK for a Vejmelka+Chychrun package? Which defender does Ottawa get from LAK, and what is the cost? Then tack on Zaitsev+2nd to the answer.
