Kravtsov to the AHL or hit the road

Created by: jcu2wire
Team: 2022-23 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 13, 2023
Published: Feb. 13, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Kravtsov needs to develop his big boy game in the AHL. Kreider and Trocheck basically ignored him against the Kraken. That is why he sat against Carolina. He is just not ready for prime time despite what he thinks.

I could not agree more. I think they should try and flip him with like a 2nd or 3rd for a tough, younger player like Jeannot from NSH. I know it may be considered "bad management of assets" but they may even just need to flip him for a rental for this cup run and just say bye at this point.

Seems counterproductive by Kreider and Trocheck since they aren't in good positions themselves this year.

David Ettegui sends him to MTL since Bobrov and Gorton drafted him.

The question is will NYR be able to get something for him or just lose him by a waiver claim

If 40-50p wingers are going for mid round picks not sure he would get much of anything at this point. Especially if hes considered a KHL flight risk.

Best we could offer is Matt Martin's little cousin Lucas Condotta .
Granted he's not a top 6 guy he plays above his projections as a heart and soul guy.
Joined MTL organization in Laval after being the Captain of his 2nd team since turning Competitive .

There's a way long explination for this logic but Condotta is a key leader with Captain experience twice since turning Pro.
More important he pulled together a fractured Laval team after MTL disqualified 6-7 players with call ups Condotta came in from NCAA pulling the team together using the bottom 6 MTL left them and ECHL call ups like Abbadanato who were clutch. He was a huge reason we made a ECF game 6 in that condition because he's a smart player who banks on people thinking he's his cousin drawing a ton of penalties as a Pest.

Condotta and 3rd round 70th overall pick in 2023
For
Kravatsov

We dont need him but if we're rehabbing Slafkovsky who face's similar challanage's why not bring in Kravatsov during a a rebuild?
Worst case he ends up in Laval where he'd be a welcome upgrade on Ylonen for the Suzuki /Caufield of Laval in Abbadanato /Richard(top 3 AHL goals scored)

Those who do that have their rights forfeited to the team they're signed to indefinetly since the War started
Plus he had the least reason to leave as he would be a KHL king in a league being boycotted by most outsiders
He turned down that to be in NYR camp /organization for a reason.

KHL title is nice but as a Russian it just means you're one of many .
NHL Title as a Russian means your one of a small group of players over a century to do so.
Legacy in Russia drives the desire to play in NHL at the top levels
