ducks will probably pass
don't really want to give him steeves, I think he's a pretty solid bottom 6 player. I'd just give a the picks and it should be fine

If blues are retaining salary, I think just a first round pick would be fair.

LOL. Yeah it will cost a team a 1st rounder in the best draft in a decade to eat like 200K in actual money.

give up 2024 then. my point is that he will be very sought after. Very cheap, very productive player. Scorded 26 goals last season. Penalty killer. Can play any center or wing. Physical and defensive. Can play first or fourth line and be a good player. Reminds me of what Blake Coleman and Barclay Goodrow were. Both of those guys got first round picks.
Just don't be shocked if he actually gets a first.

Coleman and Goodrow weren't rentals, they were acquired with an additional year of control so Tampa got 2 playoff runs with them. Hence why they cost 1st round picks to acquire.

Barbashev is a solid pickup for a contender no doubt, but as a pending UFA, a 1st round pick seems rich. Recent rumours suggest a 2nd and a prospect, which seems reasonable.

It's not really a hockey trade when one of the players is on LTIR.
