Addition by subtraction. Great trades. Shipping out Kerfoot is a must, too.

Why would the Devils want rental Engvall?

That could be any team. I just feel like a team will look at a 6'5 player with good numbers and take him thinking they could get him to play a tougher style (which he can't).

I know Leaf fans hate their own, but what is the advantage of having Accarli over Engvall? Gee, Accarli playoff record is not good at all.

Giraffe has the odd game where he looks like a decent player. Then he reverts to being a giraffe again eating high tree foliage and not contributing much.

I look at the Devils lineup and I don't know who he replaces. Johnsson maybe? Would it even be an upgrade?

Take Domi out and CHI might accept.

I know physicality often gets overrated but engvall has shown that he is unwilling to get to the dirty areas and doesn't have the skill to make up for it. Can look good in a low intensity game against columbus but 0 goals in three years in a row is telling. Plus accari plays center which could push kampf down to the 4th line

What is the point in commenting on every post that you reject a trade. If you think Chicago doesn't jump at Mccabb for first plus a c prospect for mccabe with no retention then you are delusional. Plus it's a buyers market more players avaliable then teams looking for players.

I agree the devils were just a random playoff team could be any team like pittsburgh... I just think someone would take a flyer on a 6'5 215lbs forward who could skate.

No rational Leaf fan wants to move him. It's just the usual "they need a whipping boy" crowd that hate him for absolutely no reason.

Why wouldn't TO want a 6'5" guy with good numbers who's effective, cheap, very good defensively and fast?

At worst when Engvall is on the ice, nothing happens, either way. He always looks either fine or good. It's just fools who want everyone to be a highlight real that don't see his value. He's low event, nothing happens and that's absolutely a win so long as he outscores his opposition in the minutes he plays, which he does.

0 goals 17 playoff games... As much as you can call me a meathead the clip of paul clowning him in the playoffs will always stick out as a guy I don't want in a 7 game series

Except Acciari isn't as good as Kampf and the "hits!!!!!" Crowd are literally stupid so who cares that Engvall isn't a fighter. He's effective at how TO plays.

Because it's a bad trade and all of the people proposing trades like it need to get it through their heads. Abruzzese is fine, but he is probably a career AHLer or a bottom 6 forward on a "meh" team, tops. Holl is a dump, if you can get something for him elsewhere, do it, because he has ZERO value to CHI. The bare minimum for McCabe (without retention) is somewhere in the range of a late 1st or early 2nd, and then you add for retention or whatever other pieces and/or sweeteners are needed. You have essentially paid for McCabe here and then asked for Domi 50% retained on top of it without paying for him.

He has 0 hits and 0 block shots in the last 5 games as a bottom six forward .... I know it's not the be all end all but he is only a plus 4 on an elite top 4 team so he doesn't outscore his oponents relative to the rest of his team

Who cares how many hits he has, he has the puck all the time and hits in no way win you games. Scoring wins you games, being great defensively wins you games. Buying into a system and playing as a 5 man unit wins you games. Engvall does all of that but doesn't hit enough for the Brian Burke fanclub members.

Missed the 0 goals in 7 games part... Anybody that has ever played hockey at any competitve level will tell you it's harder to play against a physcial team then not. There is a reason why Tampa brings in physicality every year, a reason why Colorado wanted Manson. I would rather have a fast skilled team but if you don't think physicality matters at all come playoff time then you don't watch

Kampf won't nail anybody and doesn't fight. He doesn't have the offensive upside of Engvall but he's a guy I trust to skate through a guy and win a battle, which is why he was so effective in last years playoffs

Why would the Leafs want to lose a good, reliable Bottom 6 player in Engvall?
