Toronto can go cheaper, Kane basically said Toronto or NY. They hold the leverage.

Take the retention off McCabe and it's closer, but I still think it would be missing something.

works out to McCabe for 1st and 3rd, Kane for Voit+2nd, and Lafferty for Robertson. Toronto has the leverage in a kane deal.

Kane would be a 1st and voit. Voit is not a good prospect and Kane might have said Toronto but that doesn't mean they only give up a 2nd. Dubas has more on the line here than the hawks and despite Kane saying he wants toronto or NY, Davidson could just say no to a deal and Dubas might be fired. Dubas has more to lose hence the leverage isn't as much a factor here.

just tell me you know nothing , dubas' job is not on the line, everyone in toronto knows this. With kanes hip and the fact that he only wants toronto or NY, chicago can either take what theyre offered or lose him for nothing. Voit is 4th in OHL scoring and leads the league in assists. hes a very good prospect.

Ty Voit is ranked 10th on the athletic for your below average (18th) prospect pool. So at BEST a C prospect. Nothing there. And a late 2nd. That's also pretty low level. Kane will net a 1st, that's not like a debatable thing. Dubas WILL be fired if they don't get out of the first again, i dont care what you say. Fans like you will be demanding change. It shouldn't be as difficult to build a competent roster as it has been for the leafs. Losing culture.

Also saying I know nothing is funny. I explained why the "leverage" you say you have is flawed (only in Toronto). I told you your golden boy prospect is overhyped which is on brand for your fan base, and the fact you thought Patrick Kane would only net a low second is hilarious.

You aren't getting Kane for Voit and a 2nd, if the pick has to be a 2nd you are giving up Knies, and even that might not get it done. You might get McCabe retained for a 1st and a 3rd, but it sounds like CHI wants a late 1st for him without retention and I don't think a 3rd gets you 2 more seasons of $2m retention. Robertson doesn't get you Lafferty, either. Robertson is not worth what he once may have been. Maybe if he had already produced significantly at the NHL level, CHI would make the bet that the injury stuff is a fluke, but they aren't gonna bet on his health and that he actually becomes an NHLer, not at his age and with his history. Laff is worth at least a 3rd and I would not give up a 3rd for Robertson.

dubas' only option isnt kane😭😭 youre just incredibly biased against the leafs. Go watch voit play and tell me that guy doesnt have top 6 upside, id laugh in your face. Im also quite convinced dubas isnt going anywhere even if they dont make it out again because of dubas and matthews relationship, especially with the upcoming contract negotiations. you know nothing, worry about your predatory organization

kane isnt getting a 1st, with his hip and him only willing to go to toronto (NY cant afford him) the ball is completely in the leafs court, they either take what theyre offered or let kane walk for free and ruin their relationship with him.

also suggesting knies for a 34 year old kane with hip problems and a NMC with him only willing to waive for toronto is laughable, especially considering hes having the worst year of his career

I'm saying IF there isn't a first, the prospect needs to be a higher caliber. In fact, the prospect would need to be higher caliber anyway. Voit isn't very interesting. You aren't getting kane for a late 2nd and a B-ish prospect. I don't care how well Voit is playing in the OHL, it's still junior and he is still tiny. I won't buy in until he is at least playing in the AHL and producing.

excellent, his NHLe suggests hes a very solid prospect, thats also not the point however, chicago can either take what theyre offered or let him walk to buffalo, NY or toronto in the offseason for nothing, the ball isnt in chicagos court, kane controls the situation. chicago would be pretty dumb to let him go for nothing cause they didnt get what they wanted, its toronto or no assets for chicago
