Take out the 3rd and the Pens deal is fair. That said, you'd need to take salary back, so I'd say keep the 3rd in and take Blueger.

I would want broberg or Bouchard coming back in that Karlsson deal. They are taking back a ton of cap and retaining a good portion for not enough in my opinion. Also I would take two 2nds for Barabanov at least with how he has played

Hell no, he’s a 58 point pace player at $2.5 mil this year and next. He ain’t going to be cheap

I'm guessing we're not looking at previous posts between teams and reading the room, huh?

No thanks from Vancouver, Boeser is much better than Labanc, especially considering their cap hits. Sharks would have to pay more prospects/picks to make up the difference.

Yeah, and he's getting a 2nd and 3rd while taking back a player to make the cap work. That's perfectly fair. He's not worth a 1st.

I get you're angry you lost the other argument, so now you're following me around to try and win, but it won't happen. You're wrong.

Disagree. I chose Pittsburgh here because Crosby has been complimentary of Barabanov, but I think they can find another bubble team to match this offer.

So the sharks should take back more cap than they are moving with zero incentive to do so? That just seems silly

It's just math. Pens can't take on cap without sending some back. There's no commitment on Blueger. Plus, Blueger is just at a point where he needs a change of scenery. He's probably an ideal type of player to hold on to through your rebuild. He should re-sign pretty cheap.

Yea you could probably swap Yamamoto for one of those guys.

Agree on Barabanov that two 2nds could be a possible return.

Well, you're clearly not reading again. Blueger makes $2.2M. Barabanov makes $2.5M.

You're coming out hot in these discussions and just making yourself look silly because you're simply not reading.

I’d want Nemec and this years 1st. Understand the Devils will be hesitant to move him, but if I’m the sharks, I’m trying to get a high end d prospect or young NHLer as the headliner in the return for Timo.

Hmm I see it as two guys on rebuilding teams who are in need of a change of scenery. I think the fact the Labanc makes about $2 mil less a year and only has one more year remaining makes up the difference in quality of play for a rebuilding team in Vancouver.

Zero mention of blueger in the trade and didn’t read through every comment

Don’t think it’s that they’re hesitant to move him. They’ve confirmed he among a couple others won’t be moved.

You can want, but you will simply not get. If the words Hughes, Nemec, or Mercer comes out of Griers mouth and there’s no budging off that ask we hang up the phone. We’ll give up assets but these trade offers on here and twitter are bat**** insane. You can keep him man, we’ll figure out something else.

I think it's silly on the Devil's part. They have an embarrassment of riches. They can move key futures and still have a nice pipeline of talent ready to make the jump. Getting and extending Meier, IMO, puts the Devils on the path to a dynasty.

I’m not a devils fan but I can see both sides. I wouldn’t trade 2OA from last season either unless we’re talking a tier above Timo type player. Wouldn’t move Hughes either. But I’d move the rest of the prospects that have been rumored.

Which is why we’ve put potentially Holtz, Gritsyuk, Mukhmadullin, and Casey available in this deal. These are NOT bum prospects. Most teams would be chomping at the bit to get one of those guys.

I can't think of the last time a prospect as good as Nemec got moved at such a young age

Unless we’re talking about a package for a bonafide top 20 player in the league those guys shouldn’t get moved. Love me some Timo and hope my canes land him but he’s not in that tier.

Hughes for sure should be off-limits, but everyone else should be good to go. I don't even see where Nemec fits into their defense. They'll have to make room for Hughes.

It's not often a player like Meier comes available like this in his prime years.
