Eh pass on Kubalik. Plan D if all else falls through.

I like the Edmonton deal, I don't think kubalik has much value and I still think as of now Bert's getting a 2nd with a small add on not a 1st. I think Fabbro is a good target but pass on l'heireux, just seems like a big headache there.

I think Pittsburgh overpays for someone at the deadline. I think Bertuzzi, hockeywise, is a perfect fit there. I also think that Bertuzzi will show he’s worth that over the next couple weeks. He would be incredible alongside Crosby and Sid would love playing with Bert.

Yeah, I tend to do that. I wouldn’t use the word “very”, though. Maybe “pretty” optimistic?

Yeah, I wouldn’t want Kubalik either. Figured it’d be a cheap(er) add for any club looking (praying) for secondary scoring.

Fair points.

I’ve been into L’Heureux since his draft year and wanted the Wings to trade up for him. I think he’s an immensely talented, agitating forward that I really like having on my team. There’s no telling if he can get his head on straight but I think worth a shot.

I truly do not see a scenario where Bertuzzi is traded for less than a 1st or equivalent. He is way too talented and perfect for postseason play not to. Aside from his scoring ability, the guy just does all of the little things exceptionally well and all too often those plays are the difference between winning battles & games. He’ll get a first or he won’t be traded.

Kubalik is the worst player in the NHL. Wish we could have traded him when he had most people fooled into thinking he was decent.

If you think L'Heureux is only worth a 3rd and Umlaut McCapdump, it's safe to say his value has already plummeted into nothingness. This is terrible for NSH.

Yeah, I mean, a top Nashville prospect spearing a fan is terrible for Nashville. I think a trade like this could salvage any value he might still have.

If EDM wanted to dump Puljujärvi to clear some cap space before the deadline, I think a 3rd would be adequate compensation for the team willing to help them out. A 2nd, 3rd, and a warm body for the pressbox is probably in the ballpark of a fair return for Fabbro - I don't love it for NSH, but it's something.

So NSH is basically giving away L'Heureux for free here. His lack of discipline is a concern obviously, but not to the point where NSH would want to give up on him completely before they even get a chance to work with him in their system.

Yeah, it’s hard to pinpoint Fabbro’s exact value. Is it possible if he’s not traded this year, that he is non-tendered next year?

I don't see why they'd let him walk for nothing. His RFA rights would have trade value. Especially considering how weak this summer's group of UFA defensemen will be.
