Monahan hasn’t played a game in over 2 months and Drouin is an overpaid winger who wouldn’t crack the Avs top 9, wouldn’t have a spot on PP2, and can’t play a PK/4th line role.

That's one of the things that drives me a little crazy sometimes. Retention doesn't get a return on its own. It has to add value.

If Calgary retains 50% on Lucic, they don't get paid for that. It only serves to turn him from completely untradeable to mostly untradeable.
