Kessel last year? over Crosby and Murray?

Yeah. Kessel lead the team in scoring last year (22 points to Sid's 19, with 10 goals), was huge in generating important offense with the HBK line, finished +5. Murray was great against the Rags/Caps last year but struggled against Tampa and wasn't really challenged against SJ.

yes, and IT ISN'T ALL ABOUT POINTS.

Thats why I also mentioned he was plus 5 while Sid was a -2 last year...

It shows that Kessel's line scored more than opponents at even strength. Sid's did not. Not gonna try to sell Kessel as a Selke candidate, but he played well in his own zone during last years run (so did Hagelin and Bonino too, tho).

He didn't generate any offense against the Caps though! He scored 2 goals in Game 1, but he only touched the puck on those plays when he shot it. And the assists he got weren't assists where he actually had to make a difficult play. The Kunitz goal he literally passed the puck 20 feet, if that. Any professional hockey player should be able to make that play. I'm not giving him praise for making the easy plays. Especially in the Washington series, he made the easy plays and people act like he's a god. Malkin was the dominating force, not Crosby. If you can't see that, I'd bet your one of those Canadians that thinks Crosby is the "golden child"

Honestly, I'm so sick of your bias hatred for Crosby. You don't like him because he's on a team you don't like. The fact that you think he's not the best in the world. or should not get the Conn Smythe is ludicrous. Crosby played well, and I trust the NHL personal who are pros with this kind of stuff, in giving him the trophy. All your arguments are rooted in sour bias towards him because he keeps beating your Capitals, and your team USA. He's great, and there's nothing you can do about it.

Dude, people are entitled to their opinions. You sound like Sheldon Cooper right now, acting like your opinion is the right one no matter what other people think. By no means am I saying Crosby isn't a good player, because he's a fantastic one. But this playoff and the last one, especially the last one, I don't see him as the best player on his team. I thought Malkin was the better player, generated more offense (which doesn't mean scoring, it means putting in the work that leads to the goal), and was the driving force for them, especially against the Sens. I'm not saying he didn't play well, because he did. I don't think he was the best, especially if we're talking about the entire playoffs. If it's just about the Finals, I could see it being Crosby or Murray. There is no way you can tell me Crosby deserved the Smythe last year. Kessel or Murray should've gotten it, even the most die hard Crosby lovers admit that.

I have never said that he isn't a great player. Don't put words into my mouth. I don't see him as the best in the world. My not-so-humble opinion says it's McDavid. And I don't have sour bias for him beating the Caps, because he really didn't contribute a whole lot to those losses. I'm tired of people saying that he beat the Caps, when he wasn't a big factor in either of those series. If I didn't like him just because he played for a team I didn't like, I wouldn't give praise to Malkin like I do, nor would I believe that Lemieux is the most talented player to ever live. I'm not sour about Canada beating Team USA, Crosby deserved all the praise he got in the last two Olympics and the World Cup.

Do you really think you're intimidating me or going to change my opinion by saying that you're "so sick of your bias hatred for Crosby" and "there's nothing you can do about it"? Because some 14 year old kid on his iPod touch who calls himself "DarylthePony" couldn't intimidate me unless he had a gun to my mother's head. If you're sick of my opinions, you don't have to listen to me

Not trying to intimidate you, but okay. So many genius NHL personnel say Crosby deserved it, maybe Malkin had more points, but Crosby drives the Penguins. Also I'm not fourteen.

You are entitled to your own opinion, and I respect your opinion, but Crosby was actually not far behind Malkin in terms of production. Malkin is great, but Crosby is the player that carries Pittsburgh. Even if he's not scoring, his presence is felt. Also remember Crosby was always paired against the other teams best defensemen, meaning Malkin had a easier time, while Crosby was given aggressive treatment by some of the best defenders in the league. Malkin is great, but Crosby is what carries the Pens.
