First trade won't happen. Saros is a vezina caliber goalie and he's the only thing keeping our team together. He has a really good goals saved above expected this season despite how bad our team has been.

2nd trade is bad. Pulju is a cap dump, we'd be downgrading.

3rd trade isn't much better. Ekholm will take a 1st in the deal.
Steven_Stamkos, OkMan and AK50 liked this.

2nd and 3rd trade would be interesting, maybe some kind of combo with them:

'23 1st - '24 2nd - Pulji - Wanner - Fogele (cap reasons)
- for -
Ekholm (some retention, like 10-15% maybe) - Jeannot

Probably toss around some B prospects or lower picks to work out the retention but I like it from EDM side, idk what NSH wants though.

For Ekholm(5-15% retained), I'd want a similar package that Muzzin got: 1st, 3rd, young player, decent prospect
Jeannot has the value of a top prospect/young player+mid draft pick.
For me, Bouchard and Yamamoto are two players of interest.

Trading Saros means rebuild? You already have Askarov for the future. Getting 3 1sts back would be pretty intriguing.

As an oiler fan I'd pay fair bit more for ekholm but the other deals wouldn't carry much interest in.

I'm a Preds fan and I'm not sure this is true. But, if it is, we for sure need to deal these guys then because that would be an absolute haul.

Why not Saros. Yalls goaltending has held you back for the last few years and now Campbells contract is going to continue holding you back.

Because it's just not realistic option.

For Jeannot, I'm going off the idea that while he hasn't put up a lot of points but is one of the league leaders for hits. He's a young guy who's already so tough and it would take temptation to move him.
Ekholm's value is probably a little more than the Muzzin deal as he plays a pretty good game. He's tough enough, has playoff experience and can put up points and is solid defensively. With 15% retention, his contract is cheaper than Muzzin's AND he's on contract for 4 years.
