Playoff Push-edited

Created by: JhonnyCanuck
Team: 2022-23 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 19, 2023
Published: Feb. 19, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Red Wings become small buyers at the deadline for a playoff push, adding a 3rd line RD with upside.

Wings could also sell some vets lower on the depth chart(if any buyers appear).
This list could include: Hagg, Suter, Sundqvist, Zadina, Kubalik, Oesterle, Lindstrom. Personally, I'd only look to trade Hagg and Oesterle for late picks and keep the depth.

Well I'd have no problem with Ghost playing 3 RD over Lindstrom, Oesterle or Hagg. I expect the price for Ghost to be higher. Then I won't be interested.

Yeah ghost gets a bit more than a deal like this. If it was one of our lesser ld prospects and a pick like sebrango and a 4th maybe but I can't see them not getting a 2nd rounder from someone for him.

It's closer but I still think Detroit gets outbid. It depends what the Coyotes think of McIsaac. Does he still have potential to be an NHLer? Or is he is what he is right now? Prospect or suspect?

This makes no sense for Detroit.

Ghost isn't going to make a difference to our chances of making the playoffs and even if he did we're not going far anyway so assets paid are wasted on him. Any assets used should be used making this team better for future seasons and not spent on someone we can't keep around.
