Hawks decline. That package probably doesn't get Domi half retained, much less Kaner.

Rangers can just as easily trade for Kane as the Leafs can. It's just a matter if they want to or not. Your Kane/Domi offer is a full diaper. 💩

No chance of happening.

Under normal circumstances I agree, but refer back to the description. The assumption is that CHI has pretty much no leverage here. Most of that value is actually meant for Domi, since he can actually be dealt elsewhere

That doesn't mean the Hawks just give Kane away for basically nothing. Hawks will do right by Kane, but they aren't going to do stupid.

Then Chicago simply keeps Kane and he re-signs with Chicago this summer and mentors Bedard next season. Chicago doesn't HAVE to do anything. There's zero leverage at all. It's just pie in the sky wishful thinking fantasy land stuff from Leafs and Rangers fans.

Two players that would certainly crack the Hawks roster and are under team control, and two third round picks is actually more than the nothing they would get from letting him walk in FA

The trade is bad but they have to make it. Even watching the game last night Kevin Weekes made that point. Once Kane makes a decision if he picks a team Chicago has to do right by him or else no free agents will sign there, if Bedard does go there he will want out when he can.

He made the point that O'Reilly requested a trade to Toronto, Gio requested a trade to Toronto and Toronto has lots of players wanting to go there because Dubas has a rep as a players GM and while you can debate the merits of that for winning a cup, it attracts players. Davidson already has a bad reputation for the way he's acted as Chicago GM. I just agree with that analysis that if Kane says he wants to go to NYR or Toronto or Edmonton and he gives only one team. Even if it's for future considerations Chicago has to do it and if they don't get need to fire Davidson cause players will avoid the Hawks while he is GM.

Chances of Kane staying and resigning are pretty much zero. It seems pretty obvious he isn't happy with management. Why else would he make public comments about not liking the Tarasenko trade and being disappointed that his health information was leaked by the team.

No they don't have to make the trade at all. If you're offered crap you keep the player. Period.

Your last paragraph is just you speculating. Nothing factual. You're just grasping at straws to support your false narrative.

We are all just speculating. Sorry are you the real Patrick Kane?

I just don't see them not moving him if he wants out. Last time I can remember that happening was Camaleri in Calgary and Burke got fired for it.

Weird that people seem to think 2 thirds and 2 players is worse than 0 picks and 0 players and a bad reputation

Anderson barely cracks the Rockford Icehogs top 6 and this other guy is someone I’ve literally never heard of

Anderson has been playing on the Leafs roster for a good number of games in the past two seasons

But aren't you excited about those 5th round picks? You know. Players who have virtually zero chance of ever playing an NHL game?
