Raanta, Lehtonen, Hayes and Shattenkirk

Description
CGY offers a decent package for Hayes and Raanta. Hayes was Gaudreau's Centre in College so they should have good starting chemistry. Raanta splits time with Lehtonen who's contract expires at the end of the year, making him an expensive backup, but CGY has the money to bury him for a year. Dallas needs to make room for Bishop so CGY squeezes a decent pick out of them. Big signing in Shattenkirk gives CGY arguably the best Top-4 in the league.

That Rangers deal does nothing on their end. The team's goalie pipeline is oversaturated and Lazar provides a fraction of the offense that Hayes does. The only upside is getting that first rounder but that is not worth a middle six center and 1b goaltender.

I'm sure Dallas would much rather keep Lehtonen than Niemi.

Better pony up Hamilton because that trade does nothing to help the Rangers. We could get a better return elsewhere and honestly doesn't help us, Lazar is a bum and no need for goalie prospects, if we ever deal Hayes it's for a d-man not a first rounder. I wish I could give you negative stars for how bad this trade is. frown
