Honest question: Do you think that’s the market price for Barkov we’re he available? Because I’m trying to gauge the same thing to pair him with his best buddy, Patrik Laine, in Columbus.

I can see the Panthers considering moving him (he does have full NMC) and turning the team over Tkachuk. Like above, I see them wanting to improve very short term to make a run this season, while restocking the cupboard to compete again starting 2-3 years down the road.

Not sure Barkov out and Dumba in improves them enough (or at all?) now, and not sure a single first round pick is enough compensation to justify a move that doesn’t improve them significantly this year. Moving Barkov’s salary does help long term, but more suitors would be available this off-season, hence the coincident need to improve this season.

They do not have space. And even if they did, this offer isn't anywhere close to fair value for Florida. It'd be the Wild's next two 1sts, a top prospect, and a solid roster player I imagine.
