Kane, Patrick
1$2,625,000
Trades
1.
TOR
  1. 2023 4th round pick (DET)
Additional Details:
Someone will give some minor conditional assets
DET
  1. Kerfoot, Alexander
Additional Details:
The reality is Kerfoot doesn't really have a role anymore on the team and hasn't played well. Too expensive for the fact he's become a 4th line winger
2.
TOR
  1. Niederreiter, Nino ($1,000,000 retained)
NSH
  1. Der-Arguchintsev, Semyon
  2. 2023 3rd round pick (TOR)
  3. 2023 4th round pick (DET)
3.
TOR
  1. McCabe, Jake
  2. 2024 2nd round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
Patrick Kane double retention. Conditional second, whichever pick (VAN or CHI) is lower
CHI
  1. Anderson, Joey
  2. Holl, Justin
  3. Král, Filip
  4. Minten, Fraser
  5. 2024 1st round pick (TOR)
  6. 2024 4th round pick (TOR)
  7. 2024 5th round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
Holl wouldn't be included here but I'd rather him not in a playoff lineup. 5th is for retention. Assuming leverage to the Leafs on the Patrick Kane front, obviously questionable if that is true or not.

this is interesting, but I'm not sure if dubas is willing to give up another first

So why exactly does Detroit want him? Our forward group is set and Kerfoot wouldn't fit in either. he's not going to beat out anybody on the current roster.

It would seem unlikely. However, McCabe is under contract for a few more years so it wouldn't be a rental. I agree though

Why is Detroit gifting a 4th round pick for your cap dump? You can have Adam Erne

Nothing to do with Detroit tbh, it could be any team. I usually default to using Detroit as a proxy for "some team will give a minor asset for this player" trades. Idk why.

Doesn't have to be Detroit. Some team not on his NTC list will give something for him. GMs do stuff like that often enough

if you need to dump some cap money. You can give the Isles Kerfoot and your 3rd rounder and will take his salary.

Yeah no, you're not getting a third round pick for a 1/4 season cap dump. Kerfoot is still a positive asset, just not on Toronto. He needs a change of scenery

Hawks decline. Leafs get McCabe and Kane for what is essentially Mirten and upgrading a '24 2nd to a 1st? That MIGHT get one or the other. Definitely not both.

Yep. I saw that. There's not enough leverage for the Hawks to trade Kane for a 4th round pick and a couple of AHL'ers. Not happening. And Kane would be OK with that decision.

Weird how all hawks fans seem to think literally nothing is better than something

It's Hawks fans taking their que directly from GM Kyle Davidson. He's on record saying he won't trade a guy for less than a fair return. And he showed that at last year's deadline. Had offers for Kubalik, Strome and DeHaan - didn't trade any of them. Until he demonstrates otherwise, that's the reality for the Hawks right now.

Fair enough if that's what he's said regarding trades. I'm naturally not as familiar with what's going on with the Hawks org. It does seem like it would be a good idea to get at least some return for your guys though. Kral is a quality defensive prospect
