What would move

Team: 2022-23 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 21, 2023
Published: Feb. 21, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Read the descriptions; Some of these trades would involve the Habs in order to relief some cap space for other teams hence why some players come with a pick to the Habs and not much else in return; Some teams, even if they moved the players would need more cap space hence Habs come in a help to alieviate some of it by getting paid to do so.
Trades
1.
MTL
  1. Kara, Vladislav [Reserve List]
  2. 2024 1st round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
TOR get a Dman ready for the cup run; Provide a 4th pick prospect
TOR
  1. Edmundson, Joel ($1,250,000 retained)
  2. 2023 4th round pick (MTL)
Additional Details:
Habs get a 1st 2024 pick vs a 4th of 2023 and retain salary for TOR.
2.
MTL
  1. Masters, Kyle [Reserve List]
  2. 2023 7th round pick (MIN)
Additional Details:
MIN provide a 4th round prospect and 7th pick; No risks on their part for some depth and possible scoring help during the playoff run.
MIN
  1. Dadonov, Evgeni ($2,500,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Habs retain cap space so provide more space in case MIN needs it last minute to get an expensive Dman for the run.
3.
MTL
  1. Kapanen, Kasperi
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
PIT get some relief on the cap space to move for another player; They provide Habs with a conditional 2nd round pick which becomes 1st round 2023 pick if Pittsburg enters the series and pass the first round;

This ONLY happens if Pittsburg are trading for another player.
PIT
  1. 2023 4th round pick (PIT)
  2. 2023 5th round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
Habs provide Pitts cap space; 4th pick si conditional.
If Pitts go through the first round; their 2nd rounder becomes a 1st rounder; Habs then provide the 4th round pick. If Pitts do not go through to the second round, then Habs only provide 5th round pick.
4.
MTL
  1. Smith, Craig
  2. 2023 3rd round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
This is only a deal to provide Cap Sapce for a three team deal; BOS get some cap space to deal for another player who can be more productive than Smith with an extra year maybe of contract;
BOS
  1. Wideman, Chris
Additional Details:
Bruins get Wideman to get depth at defense nothing more than a player low cost that can brought in and out of the lineup when needed;
***Habs get a third round pick for the cap space, not for Wideman. ***

You're forgetting this is a trade to get cap space for another player or in a three team deal. Pitts need space if they want to move, this move gives them a bit of space to get someone to help push them into the series.

Bro, you've made multiple accounts because they keep getting suspended/banned for trolling in the span of like a month because you have no self control and cant keep your own cover for two comments in a row. I think you've got the pathetic market cornered here.

You couldn't be more wrong. It's funny how everyone on this website knows you're the biggest loser here, but you still can't accept it🤣

Maybe he's not good but he's far from bad. Would be a decent 2nd pairing on a good team if he's healthy. I don't think you've ever seen him play just advanced stats

so you cant. Just like every single time. You have nothing to back up your claims of if a player is good or bad other than "watch the games".
Yeah, he's awful. Flat out garbage and wouldnt even be on the bottom pair of any half decent team. You'd know if you watched the games, or looked at the stats or did anything but think that a player on the habs is good

ok, well other than the literal mountains of statistical evidence, I have watched him play quite a bit.
He is slow, he has no manuverability, he has no puck skills, he doesnt defend passing lanes well, and while he has some ability to know where to stand in the defensive zone he is real good at getting caught out of position and because of his poor skating he cannot get back into position the second play adjusts because of the aforementioned skating issues. Oh, and that was before his back started having major issues.
but hey, he can cross check people a lot while getting caved in on chances and shots

Stop replying to him. He's just trolling without any hockey sense or knowledge of actual players. Can't see that Edmundson can ba a shut down Dman, physical in his own zone, can play 20 min when healthy and able to move the puck, which is part of what the Leafs could benefit from.

Right now he may be on day-to-day, but if they rest him up for the playoffs, he'll play the hell out of those series. He proved it in St-Louis when they won the cup, he proved it in 20-21 when the Habs took on the series to the Cup finals. He was also one good reason the Habs where able to go through the Leafs with a deficit of 1-3 in the series.

He has one year left on his contract and his a movable asset during the summer if the Leafs want to trade him back out. But yeah.. He's not worth anything since right now our Habs have no power to keep the puck moving in the offensive zone so he's responsible for that. You get a player like him on a big offensive team, he'll provide the punch they need as they keep the puck outside of their zone. When the opposing team comes back in, a guy like him will help hit the opponents and make them lose the puck so the offense can go back into possession mode.

Guess your team see him as not even worth a try to get something for him. While my move would send a pick with him which would include some return and have conditions on it, they just made a move to get rid of him for nothing. Ouch.

Id rather get rid of him for nothing than pay to get rid of him...., You acting like a 4th or 5th is getting something for him when the pens are giving up a 2nd and potentially 1st for him. Id rather lose him for nothing than take the deal you created

You said he wasn't worth close to a 3rd. Holl is also one of the worst defenders in the league
