Description
maybe Hextall has some good will still with the old club and could make some move. doubtful but we have seen crazy things at tdl in the past. kappy would be able to wear his dads old jersey . O'Connor is a useful young bottom six player Poulin is our top drafted prospect at forward and Ty smith should be in the NHL . he really looks like a pp specialist and good puck moving dman. he just isn't going to get a shot right now in Pitt. Friedmen is a throw away to make the money work . this is a pipe dream but its fun to dream maybe if the 2nd was a first but idk at this point.

Sure. But DeSmith is better than Ned. 🤭

Same with Ned. He's been playing most of this season in Grand Rapids. Red Wings are literally terrified of starting him. He can't even beat out Hellberg for backup goalie. 🤭

Turns out Carolina was right. Ned was a product of that excellent D.

Oh well. Stevie rolled the dice and lost on that one. It cost him a pending UFA broken down goalie Bernier and a 3rd.

The flyers ran hextall out of town and can't stand him. They would never deal with the Pens. Also, that's not a great deal for the Pens.

This is a questionable deal for Detroit.

Mr. Ned has already cleared waivers and can be used freely as a 3rd option, DeSmith is waiver eligible and would first have to be waived to be able to send down.

Filip Hållander is already negotiating a contract with Timrå in Sweden and won't be available for next year.

Heinen is a player that Detroit don't need and don't have a roster spot for.

I thought he was really good for us last season. I felt he kept us in games we had no business being in. I think that was worth the third.

Ned was definitely better last season. But somewhere along the way he lost his confidence. Not even close to being the same goalie this season.

Goalies are weird, man.

No but I would keep him to be honest. Cheap deal, he has the potential. Let him play in Grand Rapids or get some time as a back up.

Yzerman isn't doing that. Ned is staying in Grand Rapids for a reason. Hellberg has beaten him out as backup goalie. I don't care if he stays in Grand Rapids. But the only way he'll be playing in Detroit again is if Husso or Hellberg get injured.

Nedeljkovic hasn't played a Red Wings game since December 8.

No. Yzerman has moved on from Ned. He needs a solid backup goalie he can count on to give quality starts when Husso needs a night off. I'm still worried about Husso being burnt out because he's never had to handle this workload before.

The original goal was to split the starts between Husso and Ned and we're very lucky Husso emerged as a true #1 goalie. Great signing by Stevie.

But now we need to get a real backup goalie who doesn't crap the bed each time he starts. I don't think Hellberg is the guy either.

DeSmith has a SV% over .900 and a GAA below 4.00 those are 2 things you can't say about Ned
