Return is lame but at least he'd be someone else's problem. More about making space for Chychrun (who I believe can be the no. 1)

I certainly understand (and approve) of trading non value long term cap. But so many teams...even the out of playoffs Sens just can't afford his cap long term or even next season.

Gotta think signing good players just coming off their ELC to long term contracts probably the best value for teams. Signing players to long term contracts at age 28 or 29....maybe not.

How about JVR? Rodrigues? Nyquist? Dadonov? Pick any 3rd liner who would take a 1 yr deal so Snugs can season as a Gopher or a T-Bird.

Hell, I'll take Pitlick back the way he's played. I doubt Rodrigues signs a one-year deal again or come that cheap.

I like JVR, I like Craig Smith even too. Would love to see Kessel in a Blues jersey as someone nostalgic for the good old days of prime time Phil with the Leafs and Penguins. Probably the most prudent option is just to see what's up with Puljujarvi, who it seems like Oilers are going to be waiving any day now. He won't give anything up out there at the very least, and you can have a year to see if Edmonton has been hurting him or if he is just kinda nothing more than a defensive grinder. But Kessel would be fun even if he is cooked.
